    Beomaster infrared activation?

Hello, I just bought a Beomaster 4500 that seems to be fully functional except that it does not respond to my Beolink 1000 remote control!

My remote works with other B&O equipment so I know it is not the issue. But I also recall having owned a Linn CD player that required few steps to reactivate the remote control function (that was turned off). Since the Beomaster can also be used with a programmable Beolink 5000, I was wondering if maybe it has an infrared on/off function that I need to reactivate? Having owned many B&O components, I've seen a few things going wrong but never the infrared circuit!!! I would dearly appreciate any help or input at this point, thanks in advance and Happy Holiday to you all : )

It could be set to option 0 - it needs to be option 1. With a Beolink 1000, with the system in stand by, Sound, 1, Store.

    Re: Beomaster infrared activation?

Thank you for the prompt response Peter. When in Stand by and I press Sound, 1 store  on the Beomaster, the only thing that happens is the radio station 1 turns on. Could the instructions you gave me have to be done on a Beolink 5000 instead? (which I don't have).

Also my Beomaster is one of the first versions with software 1.6

    Re: Beomaster infrared activation?

Peter mentioned doing the change from BL1000, did you try from the BM panel or by remote? I have a BM4500 but it's at work so I can't check it now. I remember checking the setting but I really can't remember how I did it, from the panel or from the remote (BL1000).

You do it with the remote, not on the Beomaster. On the BL5000, it should be just the same - Sound, 1, Store

    Re: Beomaster infrared activation?

I just checked the user manual, yes; it's only from the remote. (The manual for the whole Beosystem 4500 (BM, BC, BG, BG-CD, BL1000) is on the site for bronze or golden members).

One more thing to note: the BM must be in stand-by when changing the setting.

I tried with both but nothing worked. What was wrong with your Beomaster?

    Re: Beomaster infrared activation?

I tried with the remote and nothing happened. Are you sure these are the correct steps? If so then something in the Beomaster (likely infra red receptor) is faulty. Thanks for double checking Peter, I really appreciate your help
