    Beomaster 4000, works, but

    Hi folks

I just got a beomaster 4000 ( the black one from the '70s )  in sort of working condition (really cheap)

    here's the rundown:

    with headphones,  all inputs,

    1. left channel - much lower than the right.  The balance adjustment can't quite even them.  Balance does work smoothly though

    2. right channel - low hum, gets much worse with the Lo filter on.

I've excersized all the sliders and switches to no avail

What I do hear  is a really wonderful sound despite the mentioned issues.

no matter what, I'm interested in recapping this as well,  I appreciate all advice!

    Thanks

The fact it works, albeit in a limited fashion is encouraging, suggesting the transistors are working. I would recap and check the power supply - probably needs some replacing of a few variable resistors - one for a Dillen kit I feel!

I'll be upgrading my membership to access the service manual,  Yes be very interested in a recap kit if available!

Martin's kits come, I believe, with instructions. I am sure he can do a Beomaster 4000 one!
