    Beotiime: Different display colors?

    Hi,

today  I finaly got my Beotime. After inserting the batteries I imediately noticed, that the 3rd display (the one which displays alarm time and status) has another backlight color than the oter 2.

    Is this normal on Beotime?

    No, this is not normal.

All displays should be light blue, the numbers are dark grayish/black.

I've checked with my Beotime and they are all the same.

I'd suggest you ask your dealer

    Best regards

    Stephan

Mine are slightly different, but my home model is the only one I've seen in total pitch darkness. The ones at the store all look identical when in low-medium light.

All three same color here, even in pitch dark.

    Hi,

I exchanged it at my dealer. Now everything's fine, except that Beotime doesn't react when  you only touch it...  I have to move it (like the one before with the different displays).

I reckon that is fairly normal - the one I had certainly took almost as much waking up as my wife!

I have it on the magnet on the wall.  As the magnet is able to support a pretty strong whack w/o dropping the BeoTime, I've gotten used to just tapping the BeoTime pretty much the way you tap someone behind their shoulder.  Kind of rocks the BeoTime on its wall mount, but works every time.  Am OK with it.

Still, it is pathetic that B&O sells this thing as "touch sensitive".  Imagine if Apple claimed their iPhone is "touch sensitive" and yet required a small whack every time you hit an icon or control.

It is strange. I have one of those bedside lamps that is metal (base and post) and if you touch it very lightly it lights up. B&O must have a reason to only activate the lights on a Beotime with such a forceful tap.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

Sometimes I jsut have to look angry at mine at it turns on, another time i smack it like crazy and it stays dark ... very confusion.

The alarm sound is .. ok, but I actually expected more ... my swatch music call was nicer, really.

Over all: Se*iest alarm clock I ever had!

yep, but B&O should use much better quality components and it would be cool to hack the Beotime to use your own MP3-sounds as an alarm :-)

    Re: Beotiime: Different display colors?

    Hi,

My Beotime bought new at my dealer has one of its 3 screens that has a darker backlight than the others.

When I noticed that i brought it back to my dealer that replaced my beotime with another....but same "issue", so he opened another one....same problem...

Finally, I took back my beotime thinking that it wasn't an issue...but today, I'm still thinking it is.

    What do you advise me?

Does anyone know what type of lights the Beotime will control? Does it operate on same frequency as Beo4 (im guessing it does).

What tunes will the Beotime play?

Beosound 8, Beotalk 1100, Beocom 4, A8 Headphones, Form 2 Headphones, Apple iPhone 4S, iPod Classic, iPad 1, Sky+ HD, Sony Playstation 3, Jacob Jensen T10, Lutron Rania IR Dual Dimmer/ Accesory dimmer, B+O A9 Keyring (SOLD), Beolit 600 (SOLD), Apple Airport Express, Beo5

    Re: Beotiime: Different display colors?

I currently live with this issue but for a 320 Euro Alarm clock that is an absolutely no go!

I bought a 2nd one and I like them realy much regardless of this issue.

@Chris: It opereates on the same frequency as the Beo 4, 5, and 6.

It makes some kind of metallic or porcelain "ping" noise for wake up - you can't miss that in the morning :-)

There's also a hidden menu and after activating it, I was able to use my light manager pro from jbmedia for alarms with light switched on without any problems!

Incredibly, it will not activate AUX.

It also can control our Lutron Grafik Eye lights: RED, BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN, 1, 2, 3..., 8, 9.

Incredibly, the Beotime has a new position I had never seen on our Beo4 nor on the Lutron documentation: "ON".

This is quite shocking, because we have dumb wall-mounted Lutron switches that have only two positions: one depress="all on", one depress="all off".

Well, the all on = "RED", and our "RED" gives a different light configuration than Beotime "ON".

I have a Beotime mounted on the wall in the bedroom. It just needs to lightest of taps to get it to display the time. The other evening, however, I was taking a phone call and went into the bedroom with the phone. Suddenly noticed that the Beotime was lighting up intermittently with no tapping or contact. It hasn't happened again since (but I don't stand around waiting to see whether there's an ongoing issue!)
