Re: More than AV: any opinions?
By heck KoS lad - you really do know how to bore the pants off me.......
We've heard this ridiculous argument time & time again (ad nauseum) so I aren't going to bother giving my thoughts on it - do a search and you'll find them.

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
I seem to recall that I first 'blundered' into this forum with a question about on-line sellers, without having any notion of who owned what or the undercurrents that existed. I pointed out which dealers had responded to my emailed queries, and who hadn't. At the time, Morethan had not responded to the on-line query page on their website. I would say that their site is a bit disappointing in that the pictures are usually missing/ not uploaded;- and it's 'more than' disappointing when you don't get a reply to a query!
I went on to make a private purchase of a BC1, and when Peter kindly pointed me in the right direction concerning getting the radio module to respond to the Beo4, KoS suddenly made a comment about my original posting and Peter's assistance, which until this thread I've never given a second thought!
Keeping on topic, I've had no dealings with Morethan AV but I really did try!
Graham
EDIT: Just reminded myself that the on-line form for Morethan was found to be an email linked form and was later found to have failed in transmission!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure. [W C Fields]

@Joeyboygolf
This has nothing to do with the mention of a third reseller, it has to do with Lee stating - with absolutely nothing to do with the thread started by Chris Reunion - that he would buy from Iconic-AV everytime if he did not own Lifestyle-AV.
What has that got to do with the thread that was started? Do you not think this is a demeaning comment? Lee had every intention of making it a demeaning comment to further his own interests and he did so.
@Lee
Just answer the question, if you would buy from Iconic-AV why not give them a chance and get them to advertise on Beoworld, or do you not want to give up your monoply?
You are behaving a FOOL mr KingOfSnake. Stop spoiling the forum for us and quit being a cookie cutter, it's not welcome! Nobody deserves this s#!t, leave Lee alone.
This is ridiculous and it's un-called for. There's a time and place.
I think these negative posts are horrible but it's good beoworld are not moderating them out.

I trust other Beoworlders will view this as an infantile, spiteful and vindictive comment..
Ian, I've bought and sold through yourself and Lee and would recommend both. In fact, you've always offered me exellent deals on B&O kit that have exceeded expectations.
But....I don't respect this kind of discussion in public, whether it's warranted or not. In fact, both you and Lee have come off badly, not just yourself.
I do agree that everyone should be able to advertise on the site - unfair competition laws could be called in to question, if not - but a slanging match on a public board isn't the way forward.
Chris.

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
Oh my word, I didn't think my post would last 2 pages..
I basically wanted to know what people thought about "more than av" (I didn't know anything about the website until a friend of mine told me about it last week) and probably also discover new websites that sell second-hand B&O, as you obviously won't find the same products on all websites, and there may be ones specialised in rarities or real vintage items.
I'm happy to learn about other websites such as Iconic, Bundo4u and Dransmann, there's also Karpamueller in Germany, if other members have other websites to recommend, pls do!
Reunion Island is greeting you!

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
Hello All
This has turned into an intersting thread!
I have purchased items from Lee and his team at AV Lifestyle on a number of occassions. Brilliant service and products. Excellent advice and prompt responses. I will continue to buy from AV as I trust the team and the advice they provide.
While Im on the topic of happy with purchases, can't speak highly enough about Sounds Heavenly- so very helpful. Can also recommend Sounds Smith- great products.
I have enquired about items with Iconic AV before, never had a response back to my emails. Perhaps they thought it was too much bother to send items to Australia..but I believe planes fly regularly to Sydney!!!

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
Okay, this is my last post on this thread.
Moxxey, you are quite right. I shouldn't have responded, and in a way i've stooped to the same level. I apologise to all members for getting involved - it was unprofessional and i'm embarassed.
I think the whole 'Rydaholm' rubbish wound me up, and then to have another flare up in such a short space of time really tested my patience - which i do have a lot of, i promise. All i've seemed to be doing lately is defending myself, and i'm really not here to do that.. i'm here on the forums to enjoy good company and conversation with friends.
My original post was not made from a 'self inflated ego' or anything else, i assure you. I mentioned Jasons company purely because i have a lot of respect for him and know he works huge hours, just as Ian does.
Once again, my sincere apologies. I shouldn't have defended myself, i should have taken a deep breath and ignored the thread. Next time, no matter what - i shut up. Lesson learnt.

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
Mmmmmm, interesting, did someone just loose out on a big deal????
Anyway, here's my personal experiences and if you don't like them, you can stick them up your Ar5e. ;-)
Bought from Lifestyle a few times and would say I have a good relationship with them now.
Iconic, I've not bought from (yet?) and initial contact was very poor, although my last query was dealt with as I would like.
Morethan, (which is nearest to me!) I guess I found out about about 2 / 3 years ago (I think) and initially had a quick phone call but it never turned into anything. Since then I've tried mailing them a couple of times from the site but never any response and I've also tried Messenging them (sales@morethanav.co.uk) about a couple of things and again never got a response.
So personally I wouldn't recommend Morethan as far a lot of effort I've had no worthwhile response back, maybe its because I haven't bought (or had a chance to!) anything from them.
As with all retailers, new or used, past buying history makes a big difference.
PS I'd also like to mention Sounds Heavenly, always helpful with quick shipping, and I've only ever bought 1 or 2 cables from them!!!!

Chrisreunion:
We all know Lifestyle AV & Lee's dedication to B&O, but has anyone tried the "other" website that sells second-life B&O stuff?
I discovered it when browsing on the Internet, they are based in UK and have different products, but no pictures unfortunately.
Has anyone ordered something from morethanav? What were your experiences?
Ian is very good to deal with but his web site is bad to navigate, disorganised and has no photos - a major flaw considering the quality items he sells. Both Iconic and Lifestyle are excellent in this way with detailed photos and individual explanations. People need to see the exact kit they are about to purchase!

One of the problems with shipping anything on that plane to Syndey is the cost. OK as long as your customer is willing to pay or you can afford to subsidise the transport costs from your hefty selling price.
I get any number of enquiries from Australia and 99% of them come to nought as soon as the cost of shipping is mentioned.
Obviously David, you are willing to pay both inflated selling prices and/or carriage charges. Most of your compatriots are not!

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
Going back to the original post - I've bought around £4.5k of stuff from MoreThanAV over the years and every item was exactly as described and well priced. In my experience, Ian is always happy to give serial numbers so you can check age/history. And everything I have bought from him came was delivered with the original receipts/handbooks/PIN print outs. Only once did I not get a reply to an email, but a phone call did the trick.
I've not bought anything from Lee but I have enquired a few times and he's been helpful on each occasion. Certainly would not rule out buying from him - he's just never had exactly what I needed at the time.
I think I'm going to cause some ripples here but, caution to the wind. I know nothing about the obviously complex history between Lee and Ian but I have inadvertantly been caught in the crossfire between each camp's supporters on this site in the past. Not very pleasant and does neither party any good.
This is where I'm likely to get shouted down. Regular Beoworld visitors eventually work out that Lee owns the site and that advertising is restricted. I can live with that, but I think the connection between Lifestyle and Beoworld should be more clearly explained for first time visitors.

I agree, although knowing the link has never changed my usage of Beoworld before or since Lee's ownership.
It's no secret and it isn't supressed or hidden, in fact there is a lengthy article in the FAQ section of the main site explaining how the whole story (Lifestyle-AV & Beoworld) came about, for those that browse the main site rather than just the forums.
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
So my last word(s) on the subject.
I can understand the frustration of some Beoworlders with aspects of this thread. Their comments are made in ignorance of facts. So whether this should be kept in the public or private domain is irrelevant.
1) Lee has stated that he wants morethanAV to fail and wants to bring about the downfall of the Company.
2) Last month - when Lee was away on holiday in fairness - a customer complaned that he was told by the staff at LSAV that morethanAV were in financial difficulty hence a reason to buy a BS9000 and speakers from them. (????????????)
morethanAV is successful in its own right and is growing. No other Company has the demonstration facilities that morethanAV has. Admittedly the website is starting to show its age and it will be renewed. I am sorry if some people did not get emails replied to or for any other incovenenience, I work 24/7.
When contributors start to express boredom about the advertising subject they are missing the point completely - the point was, if Lee felt compelled to write, as he did, that he would choose Iconic-AV everytime if he didn't own LSAV, then why not let them advertise on the Beoworld website? It has nothing to do with the advertising debate.
Ultimately, Lee's comment was totally unnecessary and was like a red rag to a bull - and for my part in reacting to that, I apologise. Last word on the subject, have a good weekend.

Re: More than AV: any opinions?
I think that wraps the thread up, with the last word from KingofSnake fairly voicing his final comments and opinions,
As mentioned, i'm not going to reply - i said my last and i'm happy with that. This thread seems to have run it's course, and after discussion with the moderating team we have decided to lock it before it takes any more completely unnecessary and unpleasant twists and turns.
If any member has an issue with this decision, please feel free to PM any member of the moderating team. Thank you all for your input, and have a good weekend.
Lee
