    BeoMaster 5 Quality

    Hello All,

this is my first post.. yeahh...about two months ago I purchased BeoSound 5 with BeoLab 3 speakers. One month after getting the system, the Beomaster 5 crashed. my dealer advised that it was a bad main board. Last week it crashed again.  dealer advised me that it is the main board again.. it is very frustrating.

is anyone aware of this issue. i am starting to think whether my dealer is diagonising the problem correctly..

    Re: BeoMaster 5 Quality

just read the BeoSound 5 forum.. looks like they had figured out the main board problem.

B&O prides itself on perfecting techonology. given the fact that computers are produced by numerous manufactures for past few decades, its interesting to note that B&O has mainboard (motherboard) issues..

well i love my BS5 and hope they figured out the problem for good.

The problem with the motherboard is a factory problem, solved few weeks ago.

Mine has 1 y. o., it's turned on 12 hours a day and  6 days a week. Its hard disk is really full of music and no problem registered in all this time, like a swiss clock Yes - thumbs up

Does anybody have confirmation that this issue is solved ? I ordered a new system some weeks ago, and my dealer keep pushing the delivery date and tells me that B&O have severe problems with the motherboards for the BM5 ?

    Re: BeoMaster 5 Quality

According to my dealer, they finally figured out the problem. Seems that the motherboard was feeding the wrong voltage to the RAM. Initially they were replacing the faulty motherboard/RAM with another faulty one.. After they had numerous cases of reoccuring fault, they finally figured out and made changes to production. Whether the issue is solved remains to be seen Smile

My dealer said that he is proactively contacting all his customers who has the old units to get the board replaced, because it will fail sooner or later..
