I'm sorry Andy but your drivel just isn't in the same league     I know your gonna read this on the 16th Alex so I'm just hoping the exams went well for you Chris. The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. Puncher:  when he comes back he will now be officially educated
Unfortunately, being officially educated does not mean a thing.  [Sorry, Alex -- not necessarily directed at you.] For example my "friend":  dual degree from NZ uni.  Law degree from Hong Kong uni.  Masters in law from US univ.  Several diplomas from PRC uni's.  At a practice job interview: I asked, "Why should we hire you?"   His reply, "Because I have friends." I shrug my shoulders, sit upright, and say, "So you have friends.  We have friends, too.  Why should we hire you?" His reply, "Because I have friends!" Duhhhh!!! Next question:  "I see you have a LLM degree from xyz in the US.  Tell me about the school." His reply, "Oh, xyz.  It's a third-rate law school." My comment, "Oh, you must be a third-rate solicitor then if the best school you can be admitted to is a third-rate university." Duhhhh!!!!

Hah, Wings is frustrated feeling the pressure of the global competition to attract the best talent available ... (at a reasonable cost ) You have my sympathy Wings! (Myself, I had to stop reading/posting so frequently as MY company was about to go bust in the meantime if I didn't ...) Seriously though, education can be good (best hopes for Alex!), and thus make a huge difference later on giving you some basic tools and, perhaps most importantly,  time to learn how to think (if you are not too lazy since birth and/or don't have poor parents), but ideally one has to know it's not everything, I agree - it's all about understanding the human factor in the end while implementing those "business" tools! Oh, and in the name of procreation one should - kindly - be able to find time for, well, responsible procreation ...

Thanks, SAF!! Unfortunately, students here only want to memorize answers for the examinations.  They expect to be given the lecture notes [in part because they are too lazy or ill-equipped to take their own notes] in order to memorize the main points.   Frequently I have been asked for my notes and/or for the "answer" to a scenario, with the implication that it will be memorized for the exam. As for my "friend":  in the US, he would be referred to as a "professional student" as he was around 27 years old, had all these degrees and diplomas, and, had no job experience.  Despite all his education, he never learned how to learn on his own or how to think.  If he did, he would not have answered the questions in the way that he did.  He was given a second opportunity in regards to the first question.  He should have noticed from my reaction [the body language and my comment that "we have friends too"] that his answer was received and interpreted in a negative way. The repeated question was a further clue that he first response was insufficient.  Yet, he gave the exact same reply a second time!  No further explanation, no new answer, nothing but the exact same answer. Duhhhh!!!! As one US judge once said, "One generation of morons is enough." Rant over.  Thank you.

I'm back, but don't expect me to be here much for the next few days. Sex, drugs and rock and roll from now on (not necessarily in that order)
And they all went pretty well, off to do my last one now - physics. Weekly top artists:
