    Finally, a BM6000 4CH!

    Look what I found!

It's in mint condition, not a single scratch. The blemishes found on some places (near the "phono 4" key, for example) was actually dirt and has now been removed. And even better: it functions perfectly. I'm pleased!

Very nice indeed! If I could find one like that I would jump at the chance to have it.

Its amazing how something can look "retro" and futuristic at the same time.

Yes, it's like it is from a future that never was.

This is in my opinion the most beautiful Beomaster, a true design masterpiece. I love the looks of my 6000/8000 (80s) and 7000 systems, but if I would also consider the level of innovation in design compared the competition the best Jensen designs would in my opinion be the 6000-4ch system, the Beomaster 1200 and the 1900/2400. To be honest I've never been a fan of the design of the 1900/2400 (and its later versions), but I still appreciate the uniqueness of the design - it looked different to everything else at that time, just like the 4channel 6000 and the 1200. Truly innovative.

Very nice example - that really is quite a find - especially if it all works as well. I think they do best if they are used regularly.

I bought it unseen, so when I visited the seller to pick it (the receiver, not the seller) up my jaw dropped - I didn't expect it to be in such great condition. I'm glad that I didn't buy the non-working expensive 6000s I've seen before, this was worth the wait. It looks like new. I've never before seen a bm6000 even close to this condition. It works great, but I have to get a new battery for the remote. I wonder what my neighbour's dog will think of the remote, btw.

    WOW!

I'm also waiting for one but it should be white edition. Just very good condition is my criteria for one.

I hope you'll find one soon!

I'm glad mine wasn't white, even though my Beogram 6000 is - the bm6000-4ch is one of the products that I think look better with veneer than in white. I think the contemporary bm2000 looks great in white, but in my opinion the bm6000 needs the strong contrast between the thick aluminium strip on the front and the veneer part underneath. The white gets a bit too dominant in this case, it steals the attraction from the more interesting aspects of the design. But this is of course only my opinion :-)

Well done! A superb Beomaster that's under-rated in my opinion. It looks good but mine also sounds good too :)

What speakers will you be using with it?

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

    Re: Finally, a BM6000 4CH!

    Thank you all!

I adore it, it's gorgeous! Unfortunately my Beogram 6000 is white, but I do have a rosewood bg400x as well so the problem is fixable. My Beocord 5000 (3 head version) is in rosewood, but not in the same nice condition as the beomaster.

To be honest, I don't really know yet where to place - I've already got more systems than rooms. It would be great in the summerhouse (replacing the white bm1200), but I don't really feel like putting a system in this nice condition in the summerhouse. Hmm. While deciding, it will temporarily replace the 80s bm6000 that is placed in the vinyl listening corner in my livingroom. The only spare b&o speakers I've got at present are two pairs of cx50s, so I should get some p30s or similar. ...when I've found a good room for the system, that is :-)

The strange thing about this is that my collection now is complete - 15 years ago I set out to get myself a collection of the (in my opinion) great Jacob Jensen-designed top of the line-systems, and now I'm done. Strange! I guess from now on I'll just be buying acessories for my main mcl system (like the LCS7000 AT has for sale, hehe). ...but wait, maybe I should have a bm3000? It was also totl, and it was designed by JJ. Hmmm..... ;-)
