Link between beomaster 3500 and beosound 9000?

    Hi all!

Quick question: is it possible to use beomaster 3500 as an amplifier for beosound 9000, through for example the AUX input, with the beomaster turning on and off along with the beosound 9000 through the link connection?

I checked out the beotech section but I couldn't really figure it out. If it works, a MCL converter is probably required, right?

    Thanks!

I don't see a reason why you cannot use the 3500 as an amplifier, but the Aux out on the BS9000 has no datalink so it won't be controlled via that.

    Ok, thanks Peter!

Friend of mine has a great sounding setup of BM6000+RL60 with BS9000. Only problem is (bit of a luxury problem, of courseWink) the BM6000 still has to be turned on and off by hand.

As far as I know, only solution to this is (expensive) beolab speakers or a (expensive too) Beolink Passive amp. I have a BM3500, thought maybe by connecting it through masterlink--> masterlink converter --> AUX BM3500 might be a solution, but probably BM3500 won't respond to these signals.

Yes, should work. I assume your BM3500 is 1 way. I connected a BL Video MKII to BS9000 via Masterlink and the audio aux link socket to the aux socket of my BM4500 (old 1 way). BS9000 is located in the mainroom, BM4500 in a linkroom. BM3500 set to A.OPT 2. Pressing CD, RADIO....activates the audio sources of BM4500, pressing TV, DVD,DTV....activates BM4500 in A.AUX mode and starts up the video source in the mainroom. Pressing LINK - CD (..RADIO, N....MUSIC....) activates BM4500 in A.AUX mode and starts up BS9000...But iy both systems are located in the same room, BS9000 should be set to A.OPT 0.....Hope this helps.

    Thanks Stefan! Big Smile

But shouldn't in my case BM3500 be set to OPT 0 (no IR reception, according to beotech)? All it has to do is amplify. Radio and CD functions will be carried out by BS9000. BS9000 therefore should then be the IR receiving unit, OPT 2, sending through masterlink a signal that turns on or off the AUX input of BM3500 when BS9000 turns on or off.

Or am I seeing something completely wrong here? I do not have any experience with masterlink systems (yetWink)

Re: Link between beomaster 3500 and beosound 9000?

BM3500 and A.OPT 0 won`t work in your setup. The speakers are connected to the 3500 and you will need direct volume control - not possible with OPT 0. But if you just want an amplifier to connect your BS9000 to passive speakers why not use an MCL2P. Should be similiar to the BM3500 amplifier. Maybe you need to resolder PIN4 to PIN1 or use a fully wired PL cable, but this seems to solve your problem...?

Ok, MCL2P is probably the only option in this case looked at it this way...

Thanks for the help, learning new stuff here all the time! Smile
