Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
I find the set beautiful, I'm waiting for the specs but can't help wondering why they released pictures of it on the floor with the table stand, it looks like you have to bend on your knees whenever you want to insert a DVD, and they seem to think that your ears are located at ground level when playing with BeoLab 7-6 only..
How will it be priced compared to a BV9, I'm curious to know too..
Reunion Island is greeting you!

Somehow, I never really liked the BV 7. But as a 55'' it works rather well. Too big for my apartment, though...

What's up with the 120Hz panel on the new BV7-55? The smaller, less expensive BV10 has a 240Hz panel. At least it's LED backlit, but the BV10 is still a better buy for the money.
BeoVision 7-55 3D, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound 8, BeoLab 7-6, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, LC-1, BeoTime (analog clock), Form 1 headphones, Beo 4 remote.

Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
Ok, it's a bigger BV-7, but whats with the BL7-6? The thing extends beyond the sides of the TV frame and looks silly IMHO. Why not use a BL7-2?
I can see where a BL7-6 might look better under a BV 4 65" but under the BV 7 it looks ill fitting and unbalanced.

... a suitable sign of respect and devotion
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
Guys,
Quick question: is the "low floor stand" really meant to only be used as a floor stand?
The reason I ask is that I'm interested in this TV (I've been waiting for B&O to do a larger LCD), but within the confines of the shelves that I would put this TV in, a table top, motorized stand would seemingly be the best solution. However, I get the impression from B&O's press releases that the low floor stand isn't intended to be put on a shelf. Thoughts?
TIA,
Mark

Why not, as long it can take the load from the set?

Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
Whoops, I thought of another question right after I hit the "return" key with the last post.
Ever since the BV-7 55" was first rumored, I've envisioned getting this TV and starting to set-up a surround system with this TV as the center of the AV system. Actually, I envisioned initially using my BL-3s as a temporary set of front speakers with the idea that I'd eventually move the BL-3s to the rear and get some larger front speakers. The area that I'd put the TV, as well as my financial situation, dictated using smaller front speakers initially.
However, now that I see how really large the BeoLab 7-6 looks, I'm wondering what the use of the BL-3s as front speakers would be. What are the thoughts of the group regarding a pair of BL-3s versus the BL 7-6 as front speakers for this TV? Ideally, I'd like to stick with ALT speakers, but I suspect that the BL 7-6 is going to be close to the BL3s in terms of sound (maybe even have better bass), and I suspect that a BL 7-4 might be too small a center speaker for this TV when used alone.
TIA,
Mark

Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
I spent the evening yesterday trying to figure out how it would look with the BV 7-55. It will fit with the high stand, but I like it the look of the low stand more and more.
The problem is that soundwise I want the BL 7.4 (monospeaker with alt) to use with my BL8000. But the low stand will take out the size of the TV a little bit and make the set less dominant in the room. Then I probably would move the BL8000 and use them somewhere else in the house. On the other hand it would feel strange not to have a 5.1 system with that TV.

Tricky, I know. We must spend some time in the store and also maybe get a home demo on this.

No problems. BL10 (almost the same speaker as 7.4 can be used with BV 4-65 and 4-103.

Re: BeoVision 7, 55'' pictures now in media center
I totally agree with you Daniel. When speaking about the surround sound the BL 7-6 isn't the perfect speaker as a center but I don't think the BL 7-4 matches the size of the TV. I think I will start with the wall bracket for the TV and have the BL 7-6 on a table/shelf below.
I wonder how the BL10 will look together with BV7-55? I think I have to mount the TV to high when using BL10?

Think it will work as BL10 is designed to be wall hanged with big flat TVs.
