Hi,
I have following problem with my link setup.
I have B&O in several rooms, but only the main room has a B&O TV. All systems are connected via Masterlink.
Additionally, I have a Toshiba LCD connected via RF cable with the main room TV. In order to watch video sources from the B&O TV on the Toshiba, I switched on the source (e.g.DTV) in the office room, which has a Beoport with Beolabs 4. So, the RF modulator in the main TV switched on and I could watch the source on the Toshiba (but only in mono). This worked for years with the AVANT in the main room.
Four weeks ago, I replaced the AVANT with a BV8-40. After that, this did not work again. I did not get a video signal on the Toshiba. I talked to the distributor and he meant, it would need an RF amplifier to distribute the video signal. After that I added the original B&O amplifier. Now, sometimes it works, mostly it does not. I asked the distributor again. He said, the BV8-40 knows, that the Beoport is not a video system. So the BV8-40 does not switch on the modulator. He meant, the latest systems are more intelligent and are able to determine, what signals it has to be distributed. The audio signal is always distributed. He can not explain, why it is working soimetimes.
I also tried to configure the BV8-40, that the link is always ON. But this setting can not be stored (it always changes back to AUTO). It does not matter, how it is set, sometimes the link is working, sometimes not.
Does anyone use the video link with a BV8-40 as main room TV? If Yes, what is your configuration? If someone can confirm, that it works with a B&O TV in the second room, I would replace the Toshiba. But at the moment, from technical point of view, I do not see any differences.
I would really appreciate if you could send your experiences.
Thanks,
