    Beomaster 1900-2 questions

    Today I got a Beomaster 1900-2.

The bass, treble, balance and phono lights are not working.

The only fault otherwise is the right channel sounds like its pushed to distortion on both right speaker pairs.

The volume is way higher than left.

Is this most likely caused by the 4 not working lamps? What happends to the voltage when a lamp dies?

Its a lamp kit first in any case. It plays great on left channel. Balance set to left. When I try to ad the right channel on 0 the Beomaster goes to standby.

    Re: Beomaster 1900-2 questions

    Hi

The failed lamps will not cause your problem but if you are getting a lamp kit then I would recommend a capacitor kit too.  Also change the bias trimmers and then see where you are.  I think the 1900-2 was the first Beomaster I restored and it is still giving my son much pleasure.  Another potential problem is a failed potentiometer (bass, treble or balance).  There are no replacements but they can be repaired with super-glue and a steady hand.  Search for Martin's informative thread.

    Re: Beomaster 1900-2 questions

I have taken the bottom plate off.

I then discovered some trouble area around the left channel. Someone has been there before.

One of the black wires is loose. How should I go about soldering it back on? It looks like there has been an atempt to fix the hole so it would work.
