Beosound 9000 MK 2- How to adjust the suspension spring setting?

    Hi,

I bought a beosound 9000 MK2 used and I belive that it was hung on wall holizontally.  I think the setting for the holizontal braket.

Is there any way to change the setting to the vertical one with a stand?

It didn't come to with a manual, so I downloaded the MK3 manual from B&O site.  However, the back side of mine wasn't the same as one in the manual.  I think there's no problem to play CDs, but when the 4th cd is played, some noise are heard.

I think (not convinced) that this guide is for the MkI, I do believe it's the same as your MkII:

The picture that follows the guide beneath is here: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/4160/beosound9000rear.jpg)

Centering of the CD drive mechanism
    CD mechanism is spring-suspended to
"Party safe" BeoSound 9000th When you center
CD mechanism, you adjust the tightening of
spring suspension, so you get several different
    placement opportunities.
It is very important for the CD player function
that you adjust the spring-suspension correctly!
Spring-suspended on the two adjustment may
    set to four different positions:
    a) Use this option when the BeoSound 9000 is
placed in the bracket, as shown in Fig. 6 and 7
    b) Use this option when BeoSound 9000
either placed on a stand or hang vertically
on the wall, as shown in Fig. 1 and 3
    c) Use this option when the BeoSound 9000 is
arranged horizontally on the wall, as shown in Fig. 2.
    d) Use this option when BeoSound 9000
either placed flat on a desk or mounted
at a position, as shown in Fig. 4 and 5 This is
    factory setting.

    Such centers spring suspension
Along with the stand or bracket you will find
a small plastic tool to be used for
    following purposes:
    > Find the two alignment holes in the floor plate at
    BeoSound 9000th
    > Pry the two small plastic stoppers (with the
    mejselformede end of the tool).
    > Insert the other end of the tool (the
arrow-shaped end) and rotate the tool so that the arrow in
each hole pointing in the right direction.
    > When you are finished, put the two plastic plugs on
    space again.
For all flat and nearly flat positions must
both arrows pointing upwards in the slots when the work is
performed. In the flat position (factory setting)
they point towards the middle of the BeoSound 9000th

Thank you for your answer, but the way you described is about MK3.  The image is not the same as MK2 and couldn't find the two holes at the corner.

The image shown in the above post is correct.

As far as I recall, the base of Mk1, 2 and 3 are virtually the same.

Are you sure that you have removed the aluminium plate for the horizontal wall bracket???

The base of the 9000 is black!!!

    Regards Graham

Yes,  I removed the horizontal steel plate bracket from the back of BS9000.

They're definitely all the same - perhaps the 2 holes on yours have the rubber plugs inserted in them, thus making them hard to see.  Also, in order to make the adjustment the CD arm must be at the CD #1 position.

Re: Beosound 9000 MK 2- How to adjust the suspension spring setting?

Yes, There were holes covered with rubber cover.  Finaly, I could change the setting and the noise were gone.  Thank everyboby for the precious advise for a newbie.
