I skip it ... it's still years behind boxee. They need to offer title recognition for non itunes movies &TV shows as well as connection to a NAS.

I use plex instead.... ATV in itself is a little limiting I find.

i think most of the problems with appletv are the movie studios dragging their heels over hd downloads to normal computers and the mediocre hardware of the apple tv

personally i'd buy a mac mini , it wipes the floor with the apple tv in every way

I can second that and a mac mini is what I use ... works absolutely great.

Mine is 3 years old but runs plex without a hitch (though I maxed the ram). Very happy with it. My wife loves it......
I use an ipod touch to control plex and sometimes itunes.

Personally I use a beo4 with Ridax's pc cable thingy very successfully. I like it simple .... Though I am looking for a secondhand beoport. Also I don't have a B&O tv anymore.

The mini also plays cd's and dvd's (upscaled through hdmi) and I use it also to rip dvd's (now over 2TB on NAS) which frees up my imac in the office.

The ATV is excellent for music only, less heavy on the processor.

    Re: Apple TV Updated

Yesterday, I received the following e-Mail message from Apple:

    Dear Customer,
If you've installed the Apple TV 3.0 software update, you should immediately update to version 3.0.1. This prevents content from temporarily disappearing until it is resynced.
To update your Apple TV software:
    1. Reboot your Apple TV (unplug the power cord and plug it back in)
    2. Select Settings > General from the main menu
    3. Select Update Software
    4. Select Download and Install
Note: Your Apple TV will conduct a restart, which is followed by the Apple logo and a status bar.
For more information, please refer to this article:

If you need further assistance with your Apple TV, contact AppleCare.
    Sincerely,
    Apple TV Team
