I just got a Beogram 4000 from a car boot sale. It had been unused for a while so I was expecting a few teething troubles.  When I plugged it in I got a whirring noise which on opening it up was the expected belt slippage on the tone arm moving mechanism. Fine I thought, I can fix that with a new belt. But now the motor doesnt spin at all. It seems to be dead. Is there a fuse for the motor or any other reason why it would stop working. Every thing else on the deck works perfectly, tone arm goes up and down, all the lights etc and its in really nice cosmetic condition but its pretty useless without the arm moving!

I have just noticed my gold membership has lapsed today or yesterday (typical when you want to have a look in a service manual!) but will be going gold again ASAP
