Did it ever work? The ME model is not the same as the MX range in operation.

    AV is not a command.
What is it that you want it to do when you press AV?

    Re: my me 6000

thanks... the av funtion should bring in the connected dvd ect, shouldnt it, first time i tried the televison the dvd playing when connected automatically showed on the screen, now doesnt also when you set the bass and treble and come to store on the remote it doesnt, now ive tested this function on the remote and its working. i learnt that if you used your camerea on your mobile fone it shows the infa red led lighting up...... a good tip....the problem seems to be when ou press any function on the remote it seems lazy or slow to acknowledge the commands

No, no my friend. AV is to swap sound between an audio device and a video device.
Not sure which remote you have, and I'm not familiar with the ME6000, but try  'shift' before various video sources  eg- Shift-Sat or Shift-Video, even Shift-TV.
When storing a sound level, try pressing 'Store' twice.
Am I right in presuming that your DVD is non-B&O?
