    Refoaming Pentas

I've heard of re-foaming the Cx100's when the foam breaks down. Also, I 've heard that the foam of the midranges in the Pentas goes bad.

Couldn't we re-foam the midranges in the pentas??

    THanks

Yes. The drive units are however not that expensive. However if you have the skills, it is obviously possible.

I have never seen foam rings of the correct size advertised but they may be available somewhere.

New drivers are around £25 each in the UK.

    Thanks guys,

That's interesting, so the drivers for the CX100's obviously must be more, as everyone opts for re-foaming these....

    Thanks again.

About the same! CXs are a much cheaper initial buy though. C75 drivers on the other hand are much more expensive!

    Hi!

In Finland they charge 170€ for two new woofers for cx50!!!

Even with new drivers the CX's are still not worth a lot but a good pair of Pentas could be worth approaching £1000 so it's economically viable to spend the money.

There's an ebay seller who sells the correct size foam surrounds - they are spot on too, I have someSmile

    Peter,

Why are the C75 drivers more?

    Age or technical reasons?
