I accidentally made a minor scratch on the front of my silver avant. Before, there was some paint missing on the lower corners but not as noticable as this new scratch on the front. Before I try to find my humbrol model paint I tought I ask if someone knows a certain paint or trick that can be used.
Hans
Im sure I heard smewhere that they are BMW colours so you could look for those.
When You mention I think I recall BMW mentioned in some thread. Forgot to search the forum before I posted the question...

I've also heard that they are BMW colours. I even have the codes for most BMW colours, but I'm not sure I can help you. BMW has used different shades of silver over the years...

Hi Hans
Yes, its BMW paint, there were 2 different silvers,
the 1st is Arctic Silver 309
the 2nd is Titan Silver 354
Hope this helps
jason
Thanks!
Does the two different types refer to different mk or is it a mix of them that makes the correct colour?
I think I will pay a visit to the local bmw dealer

Do you mean that B&O used two different colours of silver? BMW has had more shades of silver over the years than that. To complicate matters more there were different shades of silver for cars and bikes. If my memory serves me correctly I thought B&O used arctic silver, but I'm not sure.
youve got me thinking now, i was sure it was originally 309 and then 354 on the later ones , happy to be corrected if im wrong on this .

First of all I don't want to confuse anyone even more. You are correct in saying that BMW used 309 arctic silver before it changed to 354 titan silver, which is still in BMW current choice of paint. I always thought, but I'm by no means certain, that B&O didn't make the change to 354 but only used an older different kind of BMW silver, most likely 309 arctic silver.
typical of the REAL quality that bno's exhibit
while everyone else uses el-cheapo plastics , bno use bmw paint !!
