Where is the best place/ country to buy B&O?

Just spotted a BV9 in B&O Dublin store at new price €25000 discounted to €15000, whereas the stated new price (by a UK dealer)  in the UK is £15000 (€16000).

There may be some difference in these particular models, but just where is the best place to buy new B&O? Is it Denmark?

There are almost all countries represented here by the members (Lee once showed it) , so I guess a reasonable global ranking could be made. If members simply sent in the price list(s) from their respective country a neat and interesting table could then result from this...

Would eg the main factor behind the theoretical price differences be the geographical distance/shipment cost from Struer/Koprivnice?  Cool

I would say the hottest country must be the US right now due to the weak $. Just note that we do not include sales prices within our quoted prices which depending on the country may be another 20% ..... shipment cost should make up very little of the differences ... I think currency fluctuation is a big one and what a market can bear.

That's an ex-display one though.  Was in there the other day trying to buy a BeoTime,  300 euros but none in till Christmas.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars.
    The rest I just squandered.

I am going to be in Las Vegas in a few months and want to get a BeoTime at some point. Would it be any cheaper over there?

It almost certainly will. I believe it's 375 plus 8% tax or something like this.  I would just email or call a dealer so that he orders one for you.

My dealer here in the US has the Beotime in stock. I just purchased one for $375 minus a 12% discount as they were having a special sale and they extended the discount to the Beotime for me as a good customer.

But you've got to bring in back Simon. If you get caught, you'll have to pay nearly 22% in customs fees. How will you get it through the customs x-ray machine?

You might struggle to claim that it was your travel alarm! Laughing

    Hehe, just claim it is!

When I went on a really important business trip, I took my portable home alarm with me too!!!

Why would he be caught, he is a non-US resident and he made a purchase tax-free? global refund etc etc?

Well from my experience when buying stuff abroad, you have to be kinda clumsy to get caught in customs.

If you carry jewels or expensive watches in the bag you got from Tiffany's and have them gift wrapped inside the bag, I can imagine customs raising an eyebrow when you walk past them. But x-ray machines don't search for merchandise bought, but dangerous objects such as bombs, guns, drugs etc... A beotime won't raise any eyebrows IMHO.

There was a politician, or was he an industry leader, can't remember, in Finland that bought a bunch of expensive watches in Switzerland, naturally he got caught in Finnish customs, having receipts and the watches gift-wrapped. Laughing But he was clumsy...

You know what: I was asked what BeoTime is after x-ray at the airport!

Maybe they thought it's a part of a gun?

My dealer is close to 1500 miles from Vegas. The price should be the same at any US B and O dealer. The dealer I go to was having a special weekend sale which is why I was able to get the discount. I would expect to pay $375 at any dealer here. Also, as for tax, it is based on the location of the purchase.
