BeoVision 7-40 Mk IV DVB-HD update via internet

    Try this.

    1. Set your BV 7-40 on stand-by.
    2. Plug in a Ethernet cable that has access to internet
    3. Turn on your tv pressing DTV (I checked in my router that the TV actually to an IP address)
    4. Press MENU
    5. Press 4 (Setup)
    6. Go to Options -> Software Update -> Press Green ->
    7. It will tell you that a new version is avaliable (version 0.1.3.4)
    8. Press update and wait
    9. After the progress bars finished it still said "Don't turn of TV", after a long while I did anyway
First impressions. It seems to be quicker to boot when pressing DTV. Also seems not to hang as much.
There is a smilair feature in the Blu-Ray player. But I can't get it to work, or there are no updates.

    I'll try this later!

Any news on what is in the latest update? My BV7-40 MKIV *still* crashes when watching Sky (although the BV8 never crashes, using the same Sky box!).

What about your responsetime when switching channels? I have testet the software and am experiencing delays of about 4 seconds when switching channels. This was not an issue with the older software and even though the module does not seem to crash or hang anymore, the delay is VERY VERY annoing..

    Ehlerz:

What about your responsetime when switching channels?

No change in before and after the update, it still takes long time for me when switching to a HD channel.

    Hi MikaelB

Just to make sure.. Before i had the update, the responsetime when surfing the channels was acceptable, however the issues with crashing, freezing and a lot more was apperant. AFTER the update, the responsetime when channelsurfing is NO LONGER acceptable (about 4 seconds). The chrashing and freezing has disapeared though... Is this what you experience aswell. I am not talking about HD channels, but digital broadcasting as a whole through the DVB-HD module.

    BV7-40 MK IV, BL5´s, BL3´s, BL 3500, BL7-4, BS3000, BC 6-23, BV 1, BS3.

Hi Ehlerz - I haven't seen any change in responstimes before and after the upgrade. I will try to time responsetimes when channelsurfing (non HD channels) and get back to you here on the thread.

I will not say that response times are acceptable - but they are not 4 seconds. I would say a little over 2 seconds when I channelsurf.
