Peter,
If I have correctly understood your problem, you downloaded a new configuration and now it drains the battery flat.
Also the first button you pressed after the download still has the "glow" around the button which you get when you press it.
If this is the case then you will need to download a different known working configuration or make a very basic configuration and download it after recharging the Beo5
The configuration you downloaded which caused the problem has a configuration error and if you had added or changed a 3rd party product which uses RAW, then this is most likely to be the cause.
