Steve@solonica is the account of Steve James who no longer has an association with this site. I am afraid we have no control over this account - Steve has said he no longer uses it so it may be an automated request. Check your PayPal accounts and remove any automated payments.

    Re: Membershp request scam?

If this is the case, i would be very disappointed..  This has happened so many times i have given up trying to monitor it.  How many people are having automated 'old beoworld' memberships automatically pinched from their account is anyones guess.

    Hopefully it's not.

As for site security - we have Keith Saunders and Van/Firebrand at the steering wheel.. the very best.  We have had zero successful attacks or breaches, ever - and the members private password and card details etc are so secure even i have no access to them.. and i own the site!

We are lucky in the fact that we can pay for the best of everything thanks to our paying members, and also have the best people on board that offer their time and expertise for free.

    Re: Membershp request scam?

Interestingly, I've just got - without my authorization (and any prior request) - deducted GBP 30 from my bank account via my VISA card, ie the card details were obviously used by someone to claim this payment.

    The 'beneficiary' is "BEOWORLD LIMITED".

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the real'BeoWorld' (my renewal date is an entirely different season!), but want to let you know, Lee, as something fishy seems to be going on.

Of course, I'm contacting my bank immediately. Might keep you updated.

    Sad

    Don't worry Saf,

Had the same problem and contacted Lee,

In fact last time you renewed, you were not charged as all payments got stuck for several months. (Check your bank account).

All payments have recently gone through.

I just think we should have been informed.

    Re: Membershp request scam?

Just checked the last half a year of activity (just to be sure, though I recall renewing some 3-4 month ago?) on my account and, indeed, no payment registered -except the one in question!

Feel sorry for Lee for all the hassle with such stuff - I thought sending money (even between continents) takes usually just 1-2 days, nowadays.

Thanks for calming me down Phil - I admit I might be a bit paranoid as Ive been subject to card fraud several times before... eg "I" was doing some shopping in Australia though never visited the continent! Surprise The b****** apparently spent the money in an AV store, fortunately not a B&O one! Money returned, of course, but my banker told me: it might sound as a paradox, Sir, from a man who spent the last 25 years in banking but, personally, I try to avoid paying with cards as much as I can!
