Any experience with CDM - 4/33 pickup?

    Hi:

I was given a non-functioning CDM - 4/33 pickup that I'd like to fix. Does anybody have experience repairing these units? It came out of a BC 9500.

From visual inspection resistors 3107 and 3108 are burned. The service manual states that these are to be replaced with identical components. 4.7 ohm 2% 1/3 resistors. Does anybody know what these resistors do and what is so special about them? Would 4.7 ohm 1% of a quarter watt work also?

    Thanks,

These components are associated with the 5v supply. I have never seen a fault of this kind in this area so cannot be of much help.

I suggest you contact Tim Jarman at www.beocentral.com who will at least understand the circuit and may be able to fix it for you.

    Regards Graham

Sounds like resistors used as fuses.

    Graham, Martin:

    Thank you for your replies.

I corresponded with Tim Jarman over at Beocentral; they are indeed resistor fuses.

Any ideas where they can be purchased? I'm having a hard time finding that exact value.

Tim suggested finding a dead pickup and salvaging the resistors from there. Does anyone have a dead CDM 4/33?

    Thanks,

    Derek
