How to adjust volume up and down for Beomaster 7000 without remote?

    Hello, B&O lover!

I will receive a Beomaster 7000 in next some days, and it will be connected to my own Beogram CD6500. But unforlately, there is no remote, such as Beolink 1000, 5000, 7000 and Beo 4.

I have read Beomaster 7000's user manual, but I wondering how to adjust volume up & down without remote?

It is simple question, but excuse me, I have never used any kind of 5500,6500,7000 beomaster. So please help me to make clear this prolem.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, absolutely no way. You will need to get a remote.

Thank you so much for your reply.

    Do I need a Beolink 7000?

Can Beolink 1000 solve this problem?

I am going to buy MCP 6500, will it can control Beomaster 7000?

Beolink 1000 and Beolink 7000 will work nicely with Beomaster 7000. I have no experience with a MCP 6500 but I think it will work...

MCP6500 will work but you can do 90% of jobs with Beolink 1000.

MCP = unreliable and eats batteries!

Beolink 7000 = unreliable and expensive.

Stick with Beolink 1000  is my advice!!

Have to agree with Graham - a Beolink 1000 is the best for everyday use, closely challenged by a Beo4.

However, things like programming radio presets will be sooooo much easier with an MCP. And mine is still running on the first batteries I put into it in February last year... It will be a useful purchase, just don't pay too much for it.

I will find and buy Beolink 1000.

One more question, which speaker does  the Beomaster 7000 drive best?

I have owned Beomaster 8000 to drive Beovox S80.2, and very satisfied. I am looking new pairs of speakers for my new Beomaster 7000. Any idea for the speaker ?

A pair of BeoLab Penta or BeoVox Penta is a good choose.

Re: How to adjust volume up and down for Beomaster 7000 without remote?

The amplifier in the 7000 will drive any B&O speaker adequately. It also has Powerlink sockets so can use any modern Beolab as well. I disagree with Graham on this one though - the Beomaster 7000 with a Beolink 1000 is only operating at half its potential. You cannot program and you lose the two way communication. Yes, the Beolink 7000 is getting old and may well need repair, but it is the best remote ever made and gives you essentially the full system in another room. Yet to be bettered in my opinion.

Re: How to adjust volume up and down for Beomaster 7000 without remote?

I have 3 remotes for my Beosystem 6500.

    1 Beo4 MKII

1 Beolink 1000. Printboard exchanged as it was DOA.

    1 MCP 6500

On a day to day using the Beolink 1000 will cover the basics. I don't know how many time you actually set the radio channels in a place but its something I rarely do and you can change the frq. with the Beolink 1000 but not see the actual search. Do a search on Beoworld.

The MCP 6500 is to big to go be handheld so it needs a place where it can stand for longer period of times. As for batteries mine is still running on the ones I put in around 5 moths ago but I don't use it that much. Finding radio channels are simple with the MCP6500 and once stored you are better set with a Beolink 1000. One of the advantages is the sound, shift and av buttons being present.

The MCP was an afterthought as it was only the Beo4 that came with it. Its cheaper than a Beolink 7000 but I may get one. It also depends of the 2 way in my system. If there is no 2 way B&O then whats the point?

Re: How to adjust volume up and down for Beomaster 7000 without remote?

    Hello all,

I have read this thread with interest as my audio set up is quite similar to those described :

I have a master 6500 with 2x CD's attatched (one cd7000 ; one cd6500) and a beocord7000. (I wanted to add a 3rd cd unit into the Tape 2 connection - but it dont work! - disappointing!) my 2nd cd unit (6500) is in the Phono socket and works perfect.

Remote controls I have an MCP6500 (mainly for display purposes) which I find perfectly reliable - if a little unpractical. Battery consumption is not really an issue if it's not used all the time. I do really fancy a Beolink 7000 but am concerned if it goes wrong it can longer be fixed..Sad

    For everyday use I have a Beolink 5000, a beolink 1000 and a Beo4 (MkI).

But - i have a question to add to this thread - re. muting a source (audio or avant tv) using the Beo4 - i cant do it. I often wish to mute my avant in order to listen to music without switching avant off.. with the beolink 5000 or 1000 it's easy (just hit mute button!) but with the Beo4 how do you mute your source and switch to another source? I end up having to turn down the sound one notch at a time using the beo4.....surely there gotta be a mute capability on the beo4...?

    Regards,

    Michael

Quite the opposite actually: in Espoo, a 10 minute drive from Helsinki. I don't think I have been up that north in almost 20 years, except for some work related trips... Smile

Hello everybody again and I wanna say Thanks for your advice.

    I have one question more.

I tend to connect Beogram CD 4500 to Beomaster 2400. But I found that Beogram CD4500 use datalink DIN 7-pin, while Beomaster 2400 has only DIN 5-pin.

How to connect them? or Is there any equipment or adaptor, that can connect them?

Pins 6 and 7 should unscrew on the CD4500.

Could you describe more details? How to unscrew it?

      Hi Giang.
If you look at the end of the 'extra' pins, you will notice they have a small slot in them.
You will need a very, very small screw-driver, the type used for spectacles.
DON'T dump the pins!  Selotape them to the end of the cable for future use.

    Dear Jandyt & Peter,

    Thanks

For sure, as following photo of 7pin DIN , I will unscrew pin 6 & pin 7. Is that right?

Thank you all for your help.

It is easy to unscrew 2 outer pin. I use a small knife to unscrew it, but need a tiny tool to screw it back.
