    Question - speaker options

    SmileHello everyone

Not long ago i got a BeoSound 9000  and  a pair of 9000 on a floor stand from Lifestyle very pleased and now cant wait to get me hands on some more B&O sound equipment  !!! . I am getting  for a small study room a Beosound  CD only system and waiting for abit for a pair of 2500s for it , they are not that common i guess !!!  will there be a huge difference between the 2500 speakers or a pair of 4000s or 6000s ? my concern you see i want a compact system ( and have decided on this system and not a different one) so the idea of having either that cd storgae stand or a simple floor stand and the lot on top , system and attached speakers is appealing but then again i see no harm on a pair of 6000s pillars next to it   i guess ... any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.. beocentre 2 , beosound 1  though lovely systems for this room i want beosound cd only system and not fuzzed for the HD version...Smile

    Re: Question - speaker options

I am also presently contemplating a similar bookshelf sized system. In my opinion I don't classify the BL6000 as a compact speaker. I would probably stick with the 2500 or the 4000. Another possibility being the BL4, although not the best sonically, it would be a good speaker for light infrequent use.

If you want to have good sound with a small speaker you should have a close look to Beolab 3. Listen to BL4000 and then BL3 - it is like you take a courtain beside. Sound is much clearer.

If you never try a BL3 the BL4000 are good looking and well in terms of sound.

    BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 /  Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP

I would look at the 4000 - compact and very good sound. 3s are excellent - I have both - but a lot more expensive. A second hand pair of 4000 Mk 1s are a very good value choice. 2500s and 4s are very much budget choices - neither have bass in any quantity.
