I'm extremely close to ordering one. Just want to see a bona-fide, decent-resolution image of it first. I trust B&O's specs, build-quality, and all the other kaboodle... not worried about buying it touch unfelt.

I´ve just ordered one myself. I hope the set will be as beautiful as everybody says.
Leoenghis, nice picture you have. I own a 1986 GTV6 2,5 myself. I love it!

Peter :
Just ordered mine! Or pre-ordered anyway!! This is what I have been waiting for - everything I am looking for in a new set to replace my Avant. If I am completely honest, an easel frame like the BV5 would be even better but now I am just quibbling. Hope for it beginning of December and will switch to Sky HD at the same time.
Congrats Peter,
Have you seen it?
or are you buying the "pig in the sack", as we say in Sweden.
Have not seen it in the flesh, but I have seen pictures and the manual!

HI EVERYONE......
HAVE GONE THROUGH SO MANY COMMENTS ON THE FORTHCOMING BV-10 X WHERE AS NEW TECHNOLOGY IS NECESSARY FOR PROGRESS,BUT SOME WHERE DOWN THE LINE THE BASIC PURPOSE IS LOT...GOOD PICTURE/GOOD SOUND WITH A SENSIBLE PRICE TAG X WE END UP PAYING FOR CIRCUITS/UPDATES WHICH ARE NEVER USED X IN MY OPINION THE GREATEST TVS THEN AND NOW WERE THE AVANT-32" AND BV-3 32" X WHAT A QUALITY PRODUCT WITH LIFETIME PARTS (ALMOST) X I HAVE YET TO WATCH A MORE NATURAL PICTURE THAN THE ABOVE 2 TVS X WITH THE SAD DEMISE OF THE CRT PRODUCTION BY B&O,CAME THE END OF THESE LEGENDS X
CAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE THE COST IN GBP OF BEOTIME X
THANK YOU.

In my view, the BV10 is a worthy successor to the Avant - similar type of style but more modern and at a very similar price. No DVD but I have a BC2 ready and waiting.
The Beotime costs £290.

Congrats, Peter. I would like one too...
Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!

I was at the launch in Belgium too.
BV 10 looks like a big I-Phone of Apple: upper half is the 40" (Samsung) screen, under half is similar size for the loudspeakers.
The frame was in silver and will come in other colors.
Price € 7000?. (Samsung 8000/40 + Bose = € 1650 + € 3000, but more open system - so strong inclination to leave B&O)
I miss also the built-in blue ray player. A better alternative would be to have a blue ray player in my BC2. HD requires at least a blue ray player (basic marketing) (Avant had also VHS player or BC2 with DVD). Could B&O not foresee an upgrade? (just replace reader) to lock in current customers.
After some discussion with a good Dutch B&O guy, their vision is rather to go in the direction like a multi media box like TViX HD M-6500A (as they did in Gent, Belgium launch) because all content will be downloaded according to him (I-tunes). Can be driven with your B&O remote control. Need to find out how I can read commercial blu ray discs then. My own HD video's can be downloaded through ethernet network.
Who has also a clear vision on this: HD TV + playing HD movies (commercial + own productions) all in one package and not by adding boxes: I spent more for B&O because it is all in one lean concept. With the BV10 I need to add boxes.....

I was told that not the frame but the speakercovers will come in different colours....
Just because it's mellow it doesn't mean it's less evil....

It's totally unfair to compare the BV10 with a Samsung 8000+ Bose combination :
-The Samsung TV gives an awful image, mainly due to the undeactivable autocontrast, it erases all details, but also very restricted vision field. Blacks are not blacks when the leds are on on a black part, etc. Awful. You should compare with a Sony WE5 which gives a vastly superior image... Oh yes, I forgot : all this buzz about LED which makes people buy LED TVs without actually seeing that the image is worst that any good CCFL LCD... And I don't speak of maintenance rate of Samsung TVs, which is very low, even compared with Sony... -The Bose soundsystem is far inferior to the integrated sound of the BV10. Believe me, the sound of the BV10 is totally awesome, even more when you look at how thin the speaker is. -Design, finition, material : I understand that it's not what justify the investment, but it's better -Think of second hand value...
The Samsung 8000+Bose system are much more close to the BV8 offering, but with the BV8, you get better sound and picture quality.
A good comparison would be to place the BV10 side by side with the new Loewe Reference, which I saw yesterday : The Loewe set is as slim, gives a good picture (I would say a bit inferior to a B&O picture, but very close for the vast majority of us), has an aluminium cabinet, glass an aluminium finish, and has an electrostatic speaker, giving a decent sound (still inferior to B&O), but lacking of bass (need for a sub). The Loewe is only available in 52" screen size, and costs 12000€ (TV only). For this price you have an in built digital recorder, but due to the total immaturity of HD recording and HD formats, I prefer the external solution for evolutivity (as long as there's no real standard for video codecs). I don't believe that the 50" BV10 could be more or equal to 12000€. The BV10 price point (6500€) is really good, as the set is really appealing, for its style but also for its performance, an equation which previous B&O TVs (except the BV8) didn't solve.
For me the BV10 will be a bestseller, XXI century Avant...

If you consider the price for the Blu-Ray player option on BeoVision 7 I´m more than happy that the BV 10 don´t have a buildt in.
I think the Blu-Ray in BV 7 is the most overpriced thing to this date. That´s why Iplan to buy a 10, instead of a 7.
Come on folks, some one must have a picture or a skeetch of this future masterpiece!

Thank you very much for your feed-back and I must admit I'm searching and not a specialist like you. I'm happy to see that other B&O fans look to other makes and solutions as well.
The Sony WE5= € 1200.
You say that "the sound of the BV10 is totally awesome": do you mean "bad"? or "very good"/ terrific well? I heard it and it sounded very good.
In any case I use with my Avant 4O" a BC2 and 4 BeoLab 4000's and a BeoLab 2 and want to move to HD + blu ray and I'm searching for a good solution.
The immaturity of HD formats? are blu ray discs not a standard format. I hope I can also burn blu ray discs (with Adobe Premiere) of my video's and run on a blu ray player.
Thanks again

I've followed the discussion of the BeoVision 10 since rumours started appearing 9 months ago, read each new post with the eagerness of a child, and have never seen a single person make a negative remark about it. Normally it would seem to be another one of those overhyped products, but several of us have actually seen it in the flesh and have nothing but glowing admiration for it. The BeoVision 10 truly seems to be a remarkable, faultless 100% B&O product.

ps. Thanks thavn! I love Alfas - almost bought a GTV6 2.5L myself. The avatar is from my '96 164 Q4.

I just read a test for the Samsung UE40B8090 in Audiovision 10/09 (German). This Samsung uses the same screen as the comming BV10 (as far as I understood the postings so far). In the review the following observations where made:
- Skin and mix colors are good (Film modus)
- 200Mhz modus is not fully flicker ("stottern") free
- 24p shows some stuttering and movement phases
- Some light color homogeneity issues (patchy blacks/dissymmetry in illumination)
- Black/White scenes a bit to cold due to the high Kelvin value (7.000)
- Comparison was mainly made to a Pana TX-P42V10E (Plasma)
- Overall rating was "very good; 80 out of 100 points).
Other remarks where made as well, but as B&O replaces parts of the electronic and the sound modules, I expect some improvements in those area's. Looking forward to the see the BV10 and hopefully read some reviews in the likes of AudioVision, What Hifi and Video & Homevision to have some comparison before buying
