    Extra Inputs

Hi all, I am looking to expand my BM4500 to accept more RCA inputs. So I am curious as to how many inputs I can add 1 or 2 through the tape2/phono din jack on the back because on the control panel they have their own individual source buttons, but share the same input on the rear.

    As always, thank you.

The socket will only allow one type of input at a time. You switch them with some option programming kind of exercise (I forget the details). The TV/AUX input can similarly be programmed to work as a TAPE2 input, in case you don't need it for a TV. But in any case, you can't simultaneously have more inputs than there are sockets.

So I can physically connect 2 inputs but would have to switch them through a programming sequence every time I wanted to switch between the two?

Not quite - sorry for being a bit unclear. All the programming option does is change the button / remote control semantics (i.e which socket is selected when you press on Tape 2, and what kind of remote commands run through the datalink pin on that socket). There's still only one physical input per socket.

You could of course use an external switch box, but the Beomaster won't help you with that in any way.

You could use one of these, to doubkle up on your Phono input  but it would require you to physically switch between the two.

    Re: Extra Inputs

Okay, that's what I thought. I am currently using an external system selector... and I hate it. I wanted to change to using all my unused inputs so I can operate them via my Beo4. Thanks.

Oh by the way does anyone know what the command sequence is to change the assigned button to each each input?
