    Beolab 6000 Top Cap Replacement

Hi, any ideas how much effort is involved in doing this? One of mine has picked up a mark and I'd like to get it replaced. I've looked in the manuals section of Beoworld and theres no service manual for these speakers, but looking at the manual for the 8000's looks like there might be quite a bit of disassembly required to get to the screws holding the cap in place?

Just done mine and it's not too bad really.

Remove the front fret. Then loosen and remove the screws holding the top section where the tweeter is located. Then gently prise away the the section from the speaker, it will be tight as they are slightly bonded. I managed then to get in with a torque driver without actually removing the section completely. There is just one small screww in the middle. Once removed again the top plate has double sided tape holding it in place, pull away gently but firmly. Simply reverse the process.

      Hope this helps.

Excellent, thanks Jonnie - confirmed my suspicions that the top section does have to be moved to get to the cap.  I've ordered a new cap from B&O - hopefully it will come with the double sided tape...

    Cheers.

No problem. It does have some tape on it, not as much as the original. Not a problem though as there are 2 locating pegs to stop it moving anyway. Any probs let me know, it's easy, just be patient with it.
