    Apple remote to turn on system

    hi

    I have been searching on the site for information on the following but have not found. apols in advance if it is somewhere evident unknown to me.

    - i have a system wired where i use beo5 remotes in different parts of the house.

    - have sucessfully integrated using ipod touches and iphone to control the media on my system.

    - i WOULD LOVE to be able to turn on my b+o units via ipod touch, and also get proper volume control via ipod touch - at the moment i have to turn on the system with my beo5s and control the real volume with the same.

    any ideas on any software or upadtes to the remote software that would make this possible?

    thanks

    B

    I think you need a bit of hardware called IRtrans which will allow the wi-fi iTouch commands to be tranlated to IR in the correct wave length for B&O. Soundproof is the expert here!

    There is also a new product from a company called Thinkflood, product is Redeye. It is in Beta testing now but their web page indicates that it will support B and O.

    Quite interesting, however since I'm an ex-user of iphone, I'm wondering how many charges per day the iphone will need!!! Frankly spoken this was one of the main disadvantages for which I had to replace it!

    Best regards

    thanks for the replies, the thinkflood looks like exactly what i need. in reply to the iphone power thing -  its not a big use. in fact i use a dedicated (2 actually/) ipod touch for 2 sectors of the house with different apple tvs on b+o systems -  the ipod touch+remote app is a much more pleasant way to use apple tv than via a beo5 or 4 as you have to be in front of the sensor and also have to scroll, with ipod touch you can search by typing and also see on the remote, and as it is wifi you dont have to get up from where you are to change the channel or internet radio, etc. of course you know all this, but when it is on you just click off the ipod touch and no power is used, or you get a cool griffin stand to hold them. soon beo5 and beo4 remotes will be defunct as the interface is not as cool as apples;
