    Beomaster 3000-2 ... ?

    Two questions:

    1. Is there real difference between BM3000 and 3000-2 ? What I meant when I said "real" is sound and quality difference, and of course which one is better ?

    2. In your opinion best Beovox to pair with BM3000 (1969)

    Thanks Smile

1.) Well, I suppose you could argue that the more recent -2 would be better, but I don't believe that the revs would make any "real" difference. Consider them identical as far as performance.

2.) I can't say enough good things about the early S45 (single frets)! P45's would be a neat alternative.

I have a BM3000 with CX50's attached to my computer an it sounds good. Wasnt the 3000-2 slightly more powerful? I have to agree though that the S45.2's are very nice sounding and can be got cheaply if you are lucky.

My entry into the world of B&O in the early 70's started with the BM3000-2, together with a pair of Beovox 3702 and a Beogram 3000 recordplayer. As far as I can remember there was indeed a difference in power output between both models: 2x30 Watts for the BM3000 versus 2x40 Watts continuously power into 4 Ohms for the BM3000-2. At that time a very exciting piece of equipment.
