    Update on PUC codes

I wonder if anyone have a more updated list on the PUC codes than the one published here:

    http://forum.beoworld.org/groups/available_3rd_party_products_in_the_puc_library/default.aspx

I specifically wonder if the later models of LG bluray players and Samsung BDP 1500 are supported.

I heard that Struer will be faster and more responsive in adding more codes into the PUC table file.

    Thanks/
    Claes

    Re: Update on PUC codes

    Claes,

Whilst the PUC list in the GROUP section has not been updated since 9th May 2009 not that many additions have been made available to dealers.

In the case of LG and Samsung, the GROUP list are the currently available library entries.

It should be noted that there is a G-BDPXXX for Samsung which is a generic table which may well work with the BDP 1500 and there is also one for the BDP 1200. Not sure how much difference there is between BDP 1200 and 1500

    Re: Update on PUC codes

Eventually, B&O should make more accessible the way of creating PUC entries. Having to wait always for the company to release new entries is

    very annoying.

There are two cases where it would be beneficial to have the PUC generation software available:

1- One wants to control an obscure device which is unlikely to be added by B&O.

2- There are cases where the key layout chosen by B&O is not entirely satisfactory. The user should be able to do the remapping.

Admittedly, only advanced users would be able to use the software.

    Regards,

    Jean

    Re: Update on PUC codes

To be quite frank, I don't think B&O are the ones to blame for not updating the IR codes from other manufacturers, I think the manufacturers themselves should be blamed for changing everything twice a year! And they should follow B&O strategy, which makes it possible to re-assign the PHONO source to make it become N.RADIO, for instance. The B&O IR codes have not changed since BeoLink was introduced 20 years ago.

On the other hand, I agree with you about remapping the key layout chosen by B&O, that's why I chose the Lintronic converter way, even if the setup process is the clumsiest I've ever seen since I've been using a computer!

    Reunion Island is greeting you!
