Hello from Aberdeen - it's been a while.................I have just acquired a Beocenter 2200 with a seperate CDX drive and 2 pairs of speakers (X25-6335 and 2 6515's) - I paid £100 for the lot. I've read the reviews about the 2200 not being made by B & O and the sound being thin and weedy but I thought differently - although that was with the 6515 speakers which were NOT original to the system and were acquired latterly.
The onboard cassette tape drive was non-functional and found the drive belt on the flywheel had fallen off due to age and I replaced it with one from a salvaged B & O drive - it's tight and does not come off. After re-assembly everything works LP deck, tuner and external CD; but when tape is selected and play symbol is pressed the mechanism comes forward to engage the tape and play starts but swithes itself off after a few seconds???? I suppose I may have a bad connexion somewhere on a sensor perhaps - you know what it's like when yu go into a vintage system for the 1st time in years....
Suggestions please, accepted with much thanx,
Bryan Hide Miller Dunbar.
