Welcome to Beoworld !  Yes - thumbs up

    Indeed a nice radio !

There are nice drawings in the service manual, available for download for silver and gold members.
Well worth the small fee for all the information held in there.
In my opinion also worth going for gold - checkout this months incredible prizes in the draw :

Re: Beolit 1000 FM re-threading diagram

one of the worst jobs I ever did was rethread the dial cord on a Beolit 700. It really is one of the most frustrating things I've ever done and the *&%$@ thing nearly went through the window on several occasions. In the end though it was well worth the effort but there is no easy solution to it. I'm afraid trial and error rule with these things.

    Good luck...

    Chris.

I agree with Chris, patience is the key here.
    Patience and strong coffee.
And don't forget masking tape to hold what you've already done.
