    SP14 stylus cover

    Hi,are the litle transparent plasic cover for the stylus important? It was missing on my BG 1202 when i bought it.

    If you mean the cover which slips off the end and which is only there when not in use, no worries. If you mean the plastic end, these do fall off as the glue ages but make me feel slightly nervous as the cartridge may have had a hard life. You will also need to bear in mind the lack of this when balancing the cartridge - achieve neutral balance and go from there.

    Yes, i ment the cover to slide on when not in use,is this ment to be on while adjusting balance?

    Hi Jon,

              no - the tracking force/balance is set without the cover on. If it worries you, there is a cover for sale on ebay UK at the minute (how they can justify the £1.99 postage costs is another matter though) but I'm fairly sure someone on Beoworld may have a spare they would give you.

    Seriously, don't worry about it - Just keep the lid on the beogram when not in use and clean the stylus with a brush before each play.

    Thank you for the answeres,i missed the ebay cover (bidding was ended),and if i know myself right i buy one when i find it just to have the BG complete,even if i dont realy need itSmile

    If you want the styus cover then I'd contact the seller Jon - he has listed this 3 times now with no sale so I reckon he wants shut of itSmile
