Beogram 4000 - how much is it worth?

I have got an opportunity to buy a Beogram 4000 in very good working condition including a MMC 4000 cartridge in good used condition. How much does a Beogram cost in the market? Do you have any ideas?

I have checked ebay on the prices though I couldn't find any at this time and I have to act fast in order to buy it.

    Hope you can help!

Below the one I may have.

About £200 - 300 in good condition with a decent cartridge. Most however do not work properly! If you do get it, go and get it, DON'T GET IT POSTED!

Thank you Peter for your reply. I won't get it posted - I have already read that the Beogram 4000 is very fragile. I will have to travel 300 km to get it, though.

The seller want for it 100.- GBP, so it is a good price... Thanks!

Re: Beogram 4000 - how much is it worth?

    Hello Peter,

I have a question regarding the connection of a Beogram 4000 to a BeoSound Overtoure. The Beogram has a 5-pin DIN, and the Overtoure a 7-pin DIN. How can they be both connected? And will the Beogram work with a remote controll? Please advise.

    Regards,

    Wasti

The Beogram has a five pin DIN plug because there wasn't sutch thing as datalink in the early seventies Wink

The two extra pins are for conunicating with a datalink compatiple turntable, e.g. Beogram 8002. This means that you can't remote control this unit, or any other 400* series with your Overtoure, but the beogram will work anyway and send sound to your BeoSound via the 5-pin DIN.

Hi there, hope it all works out well for you. The Beogram 4000 is probably my favourite table in the universe. The Beogram 4002 being a very close second.

    Cheers!Yes - thumbs up

There is a problem here - the 4002 in most cases does not have a RIAA and neither does the Ouverture - you need an external one!
