Sonos touchscreen. Is this what the Beosound 5 needs?

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/27/sonos-cr200-review/#continued
The design is not great but the operation seems to be just what everyone is wishing for?

EXACTLY!! There is no need for the current panel if this was available. Maybe (as discussed another place) a bit bigger so you are able to mount it on a wall or other places, only attached with a magnet or somthing. Then when you leave the room, you bring it with you. Also, you would be able to have multible controls... PLEASE B&O, this is probably the largest FREE B&O focusgroup in the world (and for sure the best :-)) START LISTENING TO WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY..... I would buy BS5 for sure.......Maybe... :-)

Effectively this is just a Sonos 'iPod Touch' controller. B&O could easily write an app for the iPhone/iPod Touch that enabled us to control our Beomaster 5, as it's connected to the same network as the iPod Touch. This would be a very easy and cheap two-way solution.

You can buy a refurbished iPod Touch from the Apple Store for just over £100.

Frankly, I do not want cheap. I would want a nicely designed device, I would not want to fiddle linking my itouch into my wifi network each time i want to change music.

There was a comparison between the Sonos Ipod app and the 2 way remote on engadget. I would want the remote to be honest. Wasn't it rumored ththat a B&O 2 way is in the pipe? I am not giving up on the Beosound just yet .....

If the two way solution everyone is wishing for does turn up - what are they going to do with BS5 production??

Will folk still buy it as a "main room" solution or will it fade away, replaced by the newer two way remote? Or will they ensure you have to have a BS5 in order for the two way remote to operate?

I can't see them walking away from what is a new product but I can't see many folk still buying it if a decent two way solution is available!

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

No doubt it'll be making the BS5 2way to make people buy it Erm

That is one of the reasons I am holding out. They still would be selling Beomedia 5 though. I would think that people who do not have an audio master or wish to replace theirs would pick up the BS5.

The BS5 would have made more sense to me if you could have multiple connected to the BM5.  Once people start replacing their CD players to move to all digital, then it may become more interesting again but that is still far out - right now I would think most want to complement their CD systems and BS5 just doesn't fit with BS4, BS9000 and BC2.

    Cheers
