It will work via a Lintronic converter. I have one that I purchased from Lee and it controls my Apple TV perfectly. I've tested it for volume and channel up/down on the Avant. That also works.

Never understood who thought the Beo1 was a good idea particularly given its very limited compatibility

    Regards Keith....

I don't know that it's a good idea for complete system control. In fact it's probably a terrible idea. In North America the Beo1 was never available so I can't really speak to how it worked.

However, Apple also seems to think that a minimalist control is a good idea. At least this is true for Front Row, Ipod, AppleTV. But comapared to the Beo1, the little plastic Apple remote is not very interesting.

For me, the Beo1 is really just "eye candy," which is to say it looks nice.

Unfortuantely, there are no tricks.  The standby button is just about all you'll get any use out of.  Lee sent me one a while back (thanks again!) and it just kind of sits there in my living room looking very pretty and embarassingly phallic.
