Fan Error message on a BV 7-32

    Hello,

My 2,5 year old BV 7-32 shows "Fan Error". Did anyone get this message before? Is-it a common failure, already known?

    Thanks for your help, Marc.

2,5 years. Dust in fan out of question. Maybe the fan motor is broken , or speed to slow for cooling.

Although Alex is probably right, have a damn good hoover and rustle around with a clean dry paintbrush on the offending fan (or both) - you never know..

    otherwise, yes - it's a fan needed.

just for interest: What fan manufacturer did B&O choose? A cheapo China one or a good brand like the reliable "ebm papst"?

BV 7-32 use rather cheap chinese fan. Use the hoover to clean the fan - I would recommend to take off back cover - helps.

I would have thought that  they  use quality components ... !?

I don't know how much B&O spent for fans, but I cleaned few of them. Look cheap for me.

Thank you, sounds funny but for me it's nice to know that they doesn't seem to choose  the cheapest lousy components!

I know that "ebmpapst" fans are used in analyzer systems in labratories for e.g. clinical immunology by companies like "Eppendorf". And those companies don't want their machines fail due to temperature problems caused by a broken cheapo cooling fan ;)
