I usually check out the ads on the internet "for sale" listing where I live, to see what they have from B&O.
This popped up, I was on the phone, and rang when that call was over. She'd just sold it, for about GBP 250, for everything. The whole set has been inside that shelf since they bought it new.
Anyone else have "got there too late" B&O stories?

Re: One minute too late ...
Don't know about being too late, but I was once one minute too early and thereby started a family. But that's another story.

Re: One minute too late ...
It happened to me twice. The first time with a Beogram 7000 and the second time with a Beocord 7000. Both in mint condition. I have both the Beogram and Beocord 7000 now, but the Beocord is broken. I really would like another one...

Re: One minute too late ...
Not got any B&O 'one minute too late' stories, but got another one..
I was offered by the widow of the late, great comedian Les Dawson his old 1972 E-Type Jaguar. Bright Red, 40,000 miles, pristine, garaged, loads of photos of him with it, unrestored (i'm getting upset thinking about this..), and utterly beautiful. This car was like new..
I couldn't get together the money in a hurry at the time, and was about £2,500 short. I said i would get the rest of the money the next day and come to get it, but couldn't make any promises.
I got the money together and called her the next day, only to be told she had by sheer fluke mentioned it to some dinner guests the night before, and the husband immediately wrote her a cheque for it.
Price..
£15,000.
Gutted.. I just didn't have the money at the time

I didn't know you collected Les Dawson memorabilia!
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Re: One minute too late ...
Bought my house off plan (a long time ago!) Responded to an advert in the press. Problem was that the builder was dealing with the sales himself from a Portacabin on another site. By the time I had found him the best plot (with a huge side garden) had just been taken. The happy purchaser ahead of me was able to resell the garden for another house a few years later.
