Having noticed an absence of an english language 1203 manual on this site I decided to go through my old papers to see if I could find mine. I did. I also found an old turntable belt that I had put inside a 'Ziplock' type B&O labelled polythene bag, and this bag had been placed between the 1203 manual and the original guarantee card. (I am guessing that this may have been 20 years ago!) The coiled outline of the rolled-up (off-white colour) belt was to be found 'printed' in a dark purple colour right through the guarantee card and four more pages in one diraction, and in the other direction through six sides of the 1203 manual, although the image was barely visible on the red printed cover which had been next to the belt.
Presumably this is some sort of elastomer volatile component slowly evaporating, but what has amazed me is that it has gone straight through the polythene and then in a straight line though several pages of hard glossy paper!
