    VX5000 and MX3000 question

    Hi all,

I recently bought a VX5000 from ebay and, even thought that it shouldn't work, I've tryed

to connect it to my  MX3000. Guess what? The VX5000 works perfectly in all its functions!! (advanced PIP functions too!!!).

    Obviously the channels dump doesn't.

So why B&O 'Config guide' SW says that the PIP functions should not work? (see below)

    ************************* VIDEO SYSTEM SETUP **************************

    Beovision MX 3000
    Beocord VX 5000 (VR 1)

    Connection Video

Connect the VR 1 to the TV-set using a fully specified 21/21-pin
    A/V cable (RGB cable).

Connect the aerial to the aerial input of the VR 1.
Connect the aerial output of the VR 1 to the aerial input of the
    TV-set using a coaxial cable.

    Selecting option on the TV-set

    Option:  OPTION 1.5 (Factory setting)

    Press:   STANDBY  PICTURE 1 STORE
                      PICTURE 5 STORE

If option programming is made using Beolink 1000 MK3/MK4 or MK5 press
LINK before the sequence PICTURE x STORE

    Note!

The Beovision must be equipped with software (S/W) 2.1 or

higher, part no. 8341297. OK... It is.

The TV must be equipped with a Teletext module. OK... It has.

It is not possible to use the digital functions (PIP etc.)
    in Beocord VX 5000.

    ??????

    ***************************************************

    my MX3000 type is 3144 SW 2.1

    VX5000 type is 4539 SW 2.1

Is the MX3000 SW 2.1 (part no. 8341297) the same of MX5000 one?

    thanks,

    onyx

    Re: VX5000 and MX3000 question

    Hi,

MX3000 and MX5000 are almost identical, just a different tube size. Electronics and Software are identical.

But NO MX3000/5000 makes a download of the tv channels. At least not the european models i have (3).

Only MX5500 and newer models make the channel download. But then the tuner command in the VX menu is missing, manual tuning is not possible, just fine tuning.

    Re: VX5000 and MX3000 question

    Hello Martin,

thanks for answering to my question...

    Die_Bogener:
    Electronics and Software are identical.

This is what i wanted to earSmile

So, since my MX3000 has the motorised motor connector fitted and the same MX5000 SW,

i guess connecting a motorised base should work too.

    Is it right?

I have a MS4107 (4 pin connector), tryed to connect to my TV but it seems to not work!

Do you think it's a SW problem or maybe an hardware fault?

    thanks,

    onyx

    Re: VX5000 and MX3000 question

The 4107 motorstand works perfect with the MX3000/5000.

Try "PICTURE - < or >" and it will turn.

On a special software revision was a bug, recognizing the motor.

Picture - 5 - Store will activate the motor. This is only necessary one time, after that the software will detect the motor every time. It is a bit in the cpu, that was not correctly set.

Picture - 6 - Store will deactivate the motor

After that, switch back to Option 1: Picture - 1 - Store
