    Beogram 4000 HUMMMMMMM

My Beogram 4000 has had (unfortunately) its output cable cut by the previous owner…. thus out with the DIN connections and in with the RCA plugs. As such there is now no ground wire connection to suppress the harmonic HUMMM this Beogram generates.

True, while playing a LP record, this Beogram has NO peer. None the less, when checked against the the 4000, my Beogram 4004 produces absolutely NO hum with remarkable music quality.

My thought is to obtain a fine quality original DIN cable and solder it to my Beogram 4000. Then connect a DIN to RCA connector with RCA plugs and a ground cable for my McIntosh 2255 Amp …. ending my hummm issue.

    Any suggestions?

     Jeff

    Jeff,

Try running a lead from the metal chassis of the BG4000 to the metal chassis of the amplifier, most amplifiers have a fingerscrew
    provided for this.
