They are both scheduled for Q3 of the financial year (which starts in June), so that is Q1/2010 in plain English.

My dealer told me that the 7-55 will be released by the end of summer, the samsung 55" led TV on which the 7-55 is supposed to be based on is out now. I can't understand why this should take so long?

Mate, B&O first 'announced' they were working on a BV7-40 MKIV back in Feb 2008 - it was released in May 2009. All this is is an updated panel an an internal Blu-ray drive that passes a HDMI cable through to one of the external HDMI sockets. That took them 15 months to release.

The big problem with a 55" LCD is getting standard definition picture quality to look reasonable.

The planned launch was for the 7-55 this coming Fall, but they had an internal launch date set for August/September. They have noe "fine tuned" the launch to be Q1/2010, but we do hope they can manage to have it released before Xmas.

The main issue will be the price. It was supposed to be priced fairly close to the existing 7-40, but rumours now indicate a price closer to the BV9... The stand for the 4-103 could be an expensive option (30.000+ DKK) that would drive the price into the BV9 territory.

Well I didn't know that.... When did B&O announced the first time they are working on a 7-55? So for those people who are going to buy a new B&O TV this year - should we wait for the 7-55?

First of all - B&O never announced it, these dates are all kept within Struer for planning purposes and are not meant for the consumer or the world outside of the company.

If you are considering the BV9, waiting for the the 7-55 could be something to consider (but based on the early reports on the picture quality of the 55" LED LCD it will be no match for the plasma for most people).

Roger, thanks for all information. Two questions :

"The main issue will be the price. It was supposed to be priced fairly close to the existing 7-40, but rumours now indicate a price closer to the BV9... The stand for the 4-103 could be an expensive option (30.000+ DKK) that would drive the price into the BV9 territory."

Do you mean that something like the floorstand that is an option for the 4-103 will be available for the 7-55 ?

On to my next question :

"If you are considering the BV9, waiting for the the 7-55 could be something to consider (but based on the early reports on the picture quality of the 55" LED LCD it will be no match for the plasma for most people). "

Since my english is not excellent, do you mean that the plasma picture most likely will be better than the LED LCD ?

    Best regards

    Re: Beovision 7-55 / Beovision 10

In addition to the floor stand for the 7-40, we do belive that they will introduce (a scaled down) version of the 4-103 stand for the 7-55. But it will be very expensive.

And, yes, preliminary reviews indicate that the D10/D11-plasma series still offer a more natural picture than the one produced by the 55" LED LCD.

Considering the market, I was hoping a minor price difference between the BV 7-40 and the 55" model. The prices dropped and I thought B&O would react by proposing a more reasonnable offer. A larger screen could let people change they old beovision, if prices are not close to a BV9.

Any news about the beovision 10 (launch date, price...)?

    Thanks, Marc.

I agree, I thought that too - £10000 for the BV7-40 and £11,500 for the 55". Sounds like it's going to more like £13,000+

I'm not sure how they're going to justify that price. If I didn't have a trade-in, I couldn't have justified or afforded a brand new BV7-40 at current prices.
