    BEOMASTER 900K

I am hoping somebody could help me out on this. I came across this whilst moving some furniture whilst on a job. The owner would not part with it due to sentimental reasons. I left it at that.

Having done some research am I correct in saying that it is a Beomaster 900K?

Could anybody provide me with some more information about it?

Where and what price would I have to pay for an original in excellent working condition.

    Thanks

    Re: BEOMASTER 900K

    Welcome to Beoworld !

Yes, you're right, this is a Beomaster 900K in the version with flush grey front.
A version with black front, protruding from the wooden frame, also exists and both versions were
made with (900K) and without built-in speakers (900M).
Versions with built-in turntable were also available (Beomaster 900RG).

The Beomaster 900 is one of the classic B&O products.

You can find more info here:

    & here

It's always very hard to put a price tag on things like this.
Generally, it's worth what people are ready to pay and there seems to be a growing interest for the vintage things.
Condition is everything as with all other things B&O.

A warm welcome from met to!

In the UK these seem to go on eBay  for around £100 in fully working but slightly tatty condition and fetch more if in excellent condition. They only go for less than that if they are not working or have things like knobs and switches missing. You would have to be patient though, few owners seeem to want to part with them and they don't come up very often.

Thanks for the prompt replies Martin and Simon, I appreciate that. Looks as though I am going to start looking in car boot markets, antique shops and eBay of course. I can see why owners are unwilling to part with them, a lovely thing.

Good luck with the hunt, Paul - it really is a nice radio. They were sold like hotcakes in their time, so there are plenty of them left, keep looking and you'll eventually find one.

Another thing that could affect the price is whether the FM stereo decoder is installed. It was originally just an option. But I'm sure many sellers wouldn't even know what that is... so it can be a little hit and miss whether you get one in a 900K/M. They are quite hard to find separately.

But be careful - a 900K on a flea market was my first piece of B&O, and since then there has been no escape Big Smile
