Hello.

I am a new member. My first B&O product that I bought was A8 earphone that I got 7 years ago. They still sound great and still going strong. Since then, I fell in love with B&o products which led me to get BS 4 and Beolab 8000. Recently, I was looking to replace computer speakers for my mac and how could I not resist the temptation from Beolab 4? I find these more than adequate as my pc speaker and they sound great with just right amount of bass (not too boomy) for music.

However, I am having a problem in which the unit does not automatically go into standby when the sound input ceases from my mac. I pushed the line in switch on the back of Beolab 4 towards the auto side. At first, I thought it was the Mac that may still transmit some sound even after it was turn off. But even after taking the stereo jack out from the Mac, the speakers still just stay on. I wish I can configure it so that the speakers will just go into standby after I shut off the computer. This seems much more elegant solution than having to unplug power to the speakers to turn it off.

If I remeber well (I had a pair of BL4 that I recently sold), I had the same problem when I bought them. I had to put the switch (the one you speak about) to the other position and it worked then fine.

In regards to the switch, do I push it towards the auto or towards on? I have pushed it towards auto position right now. Am I supposed to push towards on if I want it to automatically turn off when there isn't sound input?

Thank you, Benoit. I tried pushing the switch to the opposite side as you suggested and it now goes into standby. It just seems counter intuitive that you need to push the switch towards the on side in order to activate auto stand by and not the other way around.
