    Re: Apple remote PUC code

Yes mine was apple remote too. But there is also apple tv australia, ipod dock and ipodremote on my BV7-40. They all do the same.

I Don`t use it anymore, because I don`t like the apple remote.....and the system integration with apple is not that good I would hope, so my Tvix 6500 and the BS5 can do it better....

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

There is actually two Apple remotes in the PUC library, one (the early version made in 2007) uses RAW for some reason which is an image copy and therefore cannot do repeat/continuous. The Apple remote actually uses standard 32 bit NEC protocol which DOES support repeat function.

So, if you have the early version of the Apple remote loaded into your PUC, then the repeat function will not work correctly. However, the newer version which actually uses the correct NEC format does support repeat/continous. This version of the Apple Remote for the PUC was created by B&O in April 2008 and made available to dealers.

Therefore if your PUC has been updated since April 2008 and includes the Apple Remote, then you are almost certainly got the latest NEC version which should work correctly. Any PUC loaded before that time will have the RAW version which will have the problem highlighted.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

Thanks Keith. Fast scrolling on my Mac mini (Front Row, DVDpedia) was working great, so I`m pretty sure I got the new NEC version. I also got my BV7 in summer 2008. But the repeat functions on the GO button and the MENU (EXIT) button never worked...(??)

Well, I had a look into the PUC database file for the NEC version and it has the repeat function correctly setup for both MENU and GO so I am not sure why its not working for you.

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

Ahh yes this is exactly my problem i am having

holding down the up and down arrow works fine but when i hold go to access the menu that is brought up on the apple remote by holding play i get nothing.

How can i tell if i have the new one?

edit: Also the BV7 does not turn off the Apple TV when follwo TV is selected.

edit2: just spoke to my dealer and he looked on the service tool and there is only one puc for apple remote now and no reference to repeat function buttons.

Keith do you use apple tv and if so can you get a menu up for activate genuis by holding go?

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

And one more with the same problem.

My dealer installed a new BV8 40 with the PUC for apple remote only an few days ago. If I hold a Button on my Beo4 it doesn't work like the apple remote (menu or standby).

To solve the problem I configurate the RemoteBuddy. On "exit" the mac mini goes to standby. It's not very comfortable because there are a lot of orders missing.

If anyone knows a better solution please let my know.

For those members who wish to control Apple TV exactly the same way as the Apple remote and have a Beo5 may wish to consider controlling the Apple TV directly from the Beo5.

I have not tried to use repeat on exit but know for sure that repeat on go doesn't send the unit to standby or activates genius. Fast scrolling works for me though.

I have a very early US BV8 32. Fast scrolling worked from day 1.

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

yeah this seems to be a problem, is there anyway we can request the puc to be updated for repeat on the beo4 GO Key also and maybe on/off as the PUC does for others STB's

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

Here is a strange problem. We have Apple TV connected and the PUC is set to Apple Remote. It works very well. Here is the weird problem. When the Apple TV is turned off, if I press N. Music on the Beo 4 or Sat on the Beo 4 the selected source turns on correctly, but the Apple TV also turns on. One can actually see the IR emitter flashing and then the Apple TV turns on. Thus it is impossible to leave Apple TV turned. Anybody else ever seen this problem?

    Re: Apple remote PUC code

may be this is strange question, while reading this post i thought, what are the chances of programming B&O remote to work with iTunes? It works with light SAT etc... Is there a way to program it so it works iMac, mainly with iTunes and VLC player?

Much appreciate it if someone has gone to these greater length already and can share their knowhow.
