suggestions on Beovision 8 or 7?

I need help making a decision on tv purchase.  I have the beosound 3200 & 4000 speakers, plus, had my entire new home pre-wired by B & O to add as I can afford to.  I am on schedule to have the bv 8 32", installed when the new home is complete, but they called and offered a floor model bv 7 40".  I can buy 2 of the bv 8 32" for less than the bv 7 40"  Is the bv 8 32" big enough to use as the main TV? or do I need to bite the bullet and purchase the bv 7?

What about the BV8-40? Cheaper certainly - the BV7-40 obviously has more features but will you use them?

The BV-8 40" is not available in the US, so that really isn't an option in this case.

I know how this sounds...but if the money itself isn't an obstacle, the BV-7 40/US is a far better TV than the BV-8 in every possible way.  As a main TV it really has no peer.  It will grow with you, and can expand into the rest of your home in ways the BV-8 never will.  If your dealer is making you a great deal on his display MK 3, then consider that this is a chance that won't be coming along again anytime soon.

I would try to get a BV7 MK 3 first, maybe without DVD player. Remember that awesome deal they had? The  center speaker can be added later, and well DVD or Blueray you get get an external one or you may have one.

If I recall correct the MK3 sans DVD was around 6K.

I have the BV8 32 and I know day will come where I bite myself that it only has 1 HDMI.

Thanks for the advice.  I really want the BV 7 40", but I was trying to justify spending the money.  I will have to give up installation of the outside speakers around the pool so that I can afford to do the BV 7 at this time.  I will look forward to having the pool speakers next summer.  Thanks again!

I agree with what has been said. Try and go for the BV7. The 32" BV8 is a nice tv, but if your room is anywhere a decent size, you'll lust for a larger screen, and the BV7 really is the best B&O "bargain" out there for a main set / system master. JK also makes a good point, the stock for the BV7 bare bones (sans optical drive) should be running dry at this point, so get your feelers out... I got a mailer yesterday offering BV8's for $2900... maybe you can get a BV7 AND a BV8 for just slightly more than you spend for 2 BV8s (with accessories). Sal
Love B&O, but no longer addicted.
