Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
For me, probably the BL9s. Best all-round speaker in the range. I've just replaced a pair of BL5s for BL9s and I think the sound might be better from the 9s. Why? They don't need calibrating. Set them to 'free standing' and they might out-perform calibrated BL5s (in a room where you have wooden flooring and old wooden windows).
Worst? Difficult one. Possibly the Beosound 3....only because it can't really be used as an alarm clock each day and it can't be controlled via a Beo4. So, useless for an office environment where I need to mute it swiftly.

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
By far the Beolab 9's which I acquired about a month ago is the best B&O product I have ever purchased.
The most disappointing was the Beosound 2. I loved the design but as a Mac user, it has been a pain to use. However the sound is very good.

Best: B&O bottle opener (though it was free) gets used most days :)
Worst: Mmm. Maybe my B&O soldier as he looks good, but doesn't really do anything!

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
Best must be the AV9000, never stops surprising me with features and details. I absolutely love it, it could have been a bit bigger though...
Beolink7000 is one other item I absolutely love, I find it totaly useless in a practical sense but it is still one of the most impressive gadgets B&O ever made.
Worst must be Beoprort PC, I do not get along with Beoplayer so then what should i do with it...

Oh, yes.
By far the best mobile phone i have ever seen and used. It's utterly superb in every respect. Yes, the odd gripe (no zoom or flash on the camera) - but for what i need it's amazing.

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
Best? - Beolink 1000. Classic remote extremely well made and easy to use. Also good for hammering nails & fending off muggers (everyone should really keep one under their pillow).
Worst? - Beovox X25's which came with a Beocenter 2200. Good for adjusting the sights on my air rifle though so they did eventually have some use.

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
I tried and tried to think and I believe the best buy I ever did was a...
MX2000 for 31 euros. Yes it's old, yes it needed repairs (half an hour resoldering and adjusting), but the picture is just unbelievably beautiful. Even better than the MX4002 I also have at the summer cottage - the latter has that stupid RGB switching common to all B&O sets of that design which destroys the sharpness (I watch all my TVs in RGB since we have no analogue transmissions left).
The worst? Maybe the pair of U70s I got. I just wanted to see/hear them, and they were a lot more bashed up than I expected. I guess the sound is OK - but I can't even stand using any headphones!
Sorry, but I never bought anything new The pair of BL8000s I got in a surprise lot get the closest, but the girlfriend has them now

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
Only one thing bought from B&O - a Beolit 600 in 1975. Bought with earnings from working in a bakery that summer ( I was 14). I loved it but sold it when I was a hard up student . Have got another one now but it's waiting for a donor loudspeaker. I better hurry up before they turn off analogue........
I've bought shedloads 2nd hand since.....Best thing I've bought was a mint BeoCenter 2500 together with a MCL2P for £200. Sold the MCL2P for £130... I've just this week hooked it up to a Quad405-2 and Mission753. It sounds very very good
Cheers

Good stuff Nigel - was this the 2500 you told me about when I picked up that BM6000 Quad? I think it also had SWMBO approval factor too, which must be a bonus!

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
In almost 30 years of collecting B&O many items have been the best, like Beomaster 8000 for performances, Beolab 5000 (speakers) for design and recently a pair of active studiomonitor speakers built by B&O for Danemarks radio that have a fantastic sound... But the item I would choose for its ease to use, its reliability and its huge pleasure factor would be my Beosystem 2500. The worst, I don't know if our youngest members will know, is my Beocord 8802 video, 3 or 4 times out of order during the warranty and as much after! Well, this was not really B&O inside...

Best item is Beo Com 6000. I work with children and they have dropped it many times on tile floors and it still survives.
Second hand and favourite is Beo Lab 5000. Husband has wanted to replace them many times but I will not let him.
Worst an umbrella. It lasted one season in Aussie rain.

Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?
Best? Probably the Beovision Avant. I recently (and stupidly) sold it. Now I want a DVD RF version. (If anyone hears of one in Australia for sale.....)
Worst? DVD2 I stupidly bought this when it came out after receiving positive advice from the B&O saleperson, who told me how good it was. I got it home, tried to figure it out, and then wanted to go back and throw it at her. A couple of months later, at another dealer, I told the salesperson of my disgust. His response was: "I would never have sold you that piece of junk." It was still a relatively new product at that stage!!
This is closely followed by the A9 keyring which is chunky and useless and I never bothered replacing the batteries.
