Beomaster 5000 controlled with MCP 7700 not working(?)

    Hello guys

I have a Beomaster 5000 which came with both Master Control Panel (MCP) 7700 and Master Control Panel 5000.

The MCP 5000 works fine with the BM 5000, but I can't control any functions with the MCP 7700. I have checked the IR LED's and they seem to be transmitting (all of them, checked with scope).

The MCP 7000 keeps saying "No Transmission" no matter what I do.

Any ideas? Could it be related to the two-way transmission in any way?

PS: The BM5000s fault was in the power amplifier output (shorted power transistor).

Kind regards, Mr. Kim Voss Schrader of Denmark

    Hi and welcome to BeoworldSmile

There is probably nothing wrong with the MCP7700 - it just won't work with the beomaster 5000 as it uses different codes. The MCP7700 was designed to be used with the Beocenter 7700.

    Hello

I probably should have figured that out by my self, but thanks anyway. I'm fixing the BM5000 for a customer, and when someone delivers a remote (two in this case) I'm expecting them to work with the brought tuner.

    Thanx :)

I see why you got confused now. Typical B&O though - sensible assumptions will always land you in troubleSmile
