Re: Why did the LC2 die?

I use the LK Touch IR 350 UNI, not as good as LC1/LC2 - no scene control only dim up/down - but you can use both Beo4 and Beo5.

Up to four in one zone can be remote controlled independently. Trafo regulated light sources is allso possible to control

Thanks Simon - appreciated. BUT, this and other recommendations about Lutron dimmers, don't really address the question as to how these were, or are, a straightforward alternative to the old LC2. Also, as I live in Spain, the 'home visit' isn't really an option. I'm beginning to think that the reason old LC2s command such high prices is because there is no single alternative. Am I correct?

Simple question please. Which model(s) will directly replace an LC2?

Thanks for that. I now remember that I'd seen this before but forgotten about it!

    Thanks again.

Those links provided look like they may offer you the alternatives you are looking for. I could only offer my advice about the Lutron Dimmers as that's all I have. They have not replaced my LC2s, rather work alongside them. The LC2s control 2 flos glo-ball floor lamps while the Rania dimmers control the rest of the lighting - i.e. ceiling lights and track lighting.

Before you buy anything be sure you know what type of bulbs and wattage it works with.

Yes I bought 3 of these yesterday, much cheaper though

I use them to control the Ice-cubes with the beo4 or finger touch, works great

see the attached video link for the usage

Re: Why did the LC2 die?

Well this is harder than I thought possible!

Reading the technical information regarding the Lintronic unit and leaving aside its high price (with Denmark's VAT), it does not seem to be capable of use with other LC2s in a pre-programmed light picture.

Incorporating with one or more with other LC2s would require, it seems, switching on the light picture programmed into the LC2s, THEN switching on the Lintronic(s) seperately to their pre-programmed dimmer level.

    Is this correct?

    Confused

When you have preconfigured scenarios (1-9) your just press LIGHT + # and that is the same for LC2

    Your wellcomeBig Smile

actually the only difference I can see between LC2 and AluDim is for some reason the AluDim sets the dim % value opposit as the LC2.

On LC2 LIGHT-1-GO sets 100% the AluDim 10% - strange why not keep the setting from LC2 and the they are direct interchangebleConfused

But if you use light scenarios it's not a problem in daily use
