Well it might not be over heating. but whenever i listen to my beomaster at a louader volume it shuts off by it self and i have to reastart it. IM guessing is something thats not working correctly and it turns it self of before something worse happened. So it shuts it self of at volume 32 everytime, sometime it takes a little bit and sometimes it just shuts off at the moment it hits 32... anyone have any ideas what this can be? a fuse that is broken?

Normally, the 5500 won't just shut down when it reaches a specific volume. My 5500 has the problem that it is getting/running very very hot, but it doesn't affect the sound quality and/or shuts down. I'm afraid you have to try taking it to a B&O Tech

I have a palisander Beomaster 6000 '80s that does the same allthough at lower volume.

It is a heating issue of some sort I think and the Beomaster is shut down for safety reasons.

Try unplugging the speakers and see if it takes the load on 32. 

Mine does and it means that the speaker outputs needs to be adjusted as they are out of specs.

That is what I have come up with. I have yet to get to Dillen for the service but I have talked with him about it.

In the service manual, one of the first in the series of adjustments specified is "No-signal current". This is adjusted by a trimmer potentiometer. If the trimmer pot is oxidized or otherwise flaky, it must be replaced - I understand Martin Dillen has a good supply of them.

It's a good idea to replace the trimmers for each channel, while you're at it.

And while adjusting them, speakers must NOT be connected, and the volume control must be fully "Low".
